miu, 13 Jul 2012how to update vodafone 858 to android 2.3.3You cannot update to android 2.3,the device supports only android version 2.2.
But you can root the phone and use custom firmware..

Speed UP VOdafone Smart Tutorial.
1)Download SuperOneClick v2.3.3 and extraxt to your Desktop
2)Turn on your phone and go to Menu->Settings->Applications->Development-> and chek USB debuging
3)Conect Phone to PC(NO mass storage!!)
4)Run SuperOneClick v2.3.3 and wait program to finish
5)Phone will be unresponsive whit balck screen.Deconect the phone remove the batteryfor 2 secconds put it back and the phone wil boot automatic.
6)Go to Menu->all programs and search fore Superuser ...if you find the program than the phone is rooted succsesfully.
7)Download SetCPU v2.0.2.apk and copy to the sd card of your phone and install it
8)Run SetCPU and set the MINIMAL FRECVENCY TO 600 MHZ !
9)Done you have new phone whit full speed
Compared to whit samsung galaxy mini after tha hacking speed is egal no lag!
Whit program SetCPU you can owerklock the procesor up to 692 Mhz.
Good luck.and make backup befor this!

It looks good... but it is very slow and very unresponsive. if u press the home button, you will see nothing for 10-30 sec, than icons will show up. battery life veryy bad. the display is too small and not too easy to type. playing angry birds and fruit ninja (and other "big" games) is horrible. the window "... HAS STOPPED WORKING (FORCE CLOSE)" shows very often. and all this things (and other) happened just after a month i bought it just because it was android. but the phone is really bad. thats it.

Hey guyz plz dont install Cm9 because they hav not relased the driver of Camera thats why its camera will not work if installed.. install Cyanogen mod 7.2 its great .. but in 7.2 only default camera app works other third party CAmera apps dont works.. but it supports live wallpaper multitouch.. etc. its great.. !

paddhu, 09 Jul 2012Hi its the cell fone is very good but the battery cosumtion... morehey bro check which application is using battery .. go to Battery Usage.. let only Android system to use battery .. uninstall other app if it is using ur batery continously.. and dont use Live wallpapers.. and also decrease ur screen brightnes ,, and use WIFi only when u need it..and Disable all screen animations.. go to setings, display. screen animations, then disable it..

Good smartphone for the price.With a little bit of tuning and disabling sync,3g,live wallpaper,gps,putting backlight on auto,wifi of,internet data plan of you can get a batter lifetime of 2 full days!Or 1 day with intensive talk time sms,wifi 1-2h,sync more than 3 time /day.Uninstall all useless program that isn't open more than 1 time from the instaling.Wen you read 1-2 tutorials from the internet you will see this phone can work very well without legs.You can enable live wallpapers in software version 2.2.1 but unfortunately you cannot do this in software version 2.2.2 this is a bug in the update and you most hack you pfone ,root it and ad or deleate some file to work again.Gps is working fine with igo my way.(piratebay)
For the money you pay this is an excellent acceptable little smartphone.I recommend you.

don, 06 Jul 2012the phone is very good, but its battery consumption is too ... moreHi, pls format ur phone and disable sync (eg facebook,phonebook,email,twitter etc) and it will be atleast 60% better.Use battery saver app and disable auto adj of screen resolution. I did the same. And as for screen it is nice pls make sure u remove the plastic layer on it and use very carefully. Amazing features however drawback is not quality parts like touchscreen. Mine problem with this one is pixel dead and hence cant unlock phone in any way.Hence using old nokia phone.
