Week 35 in review: IFA, iPhone 7 pricing, Note7 recall
One of the biggest events of the year, IFA in Berlin was the single most important thing that happened this week. We have the new announcements nicely rounded up for you here, and those include the Moto Z Play, a Sony Xperia XZ flagship and an X Compact, plus the Gear S3 smartwatch, just to name a few.
Who would have thought then that in the week of IFA the most read article on GSMArena would be one on the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 7. Though when the story is that Apple is planning to offer 32GB/128GB/256GB storage options (effectively doubling the built-in memory compared to last year's models), while keeping the respective prices unchanged, the excitement is understandable.
Ongoing Nexus rumors continued this week, before it was revealed that Google's future phones won't be named Nexus at all. The Galaxy S8 rumor mill is picking up speed too, next year's A5 might have shown up in benchmarks, and the Note7's S Pen appears to have a tendency to get stuck. Again.
That's not the high-end phablet's biggest issue, though, not by a long stretch. A worldwide recall of all Note7 units has been officially announced, in light of reports of exploding batteries. Better safe than sorry.
