Weird volume control bug reported on the Galaxy Nexus
A rather weird bug in the UK version of the Galaxy Nexus has just surfaced. Users were reporting that the volume control on their devices were inexplicably going all the way down on their own. After a little digging, it was realized that this was caused by other cell phones.
As you can see in the video above, the phone is currently on the bootloader screen and just by placing another phone next to it, it causes the phone to cycle through the on-screen options. As you may know, the only way to navigate on an Android device in bootloader mode is by using the volume control keys.
The issues seems to be caused only when the other device is using the 900MHz 2G band. The issue can be prevented by locking the Galaxy Nexus in 3G mode, which would be fine if you're constantly in 3G coverage area. For the sake of the others, however, we hope Google/Samsung is working on a fix right now.

And how do you lock in 3g mode? They seem to have taken away the option that allows that in Android 4.0

Guess its better than having random reboots. Lets see how long it takes them to fix this. I'm giving 2 months max.
