I'll try underclocking the CPU and undervolting it, to save battery life. Let's hope for the best. Other than that this is a great flagship to be honest. I like it despite its bad battery life.

Gets warm, drains battery real quick, but yeah, I guess we have to live with it. That's maybe related to the chip being really fast, I don't think that we are gonna run benchmarks and throttling tests every second. Especially if the device is your daily driver. xD

Furkan, 08 Feb 2023SD888 is better than Gen 1 I think that I'll return the 12 and get the Mi 11 instead. Well, I'm not really gonna lose something and the Mi 11 supports AOSP based custom ROMs well - at least being actively developed. But I'll definitely miss the compact size of the Xiaomi 12. :(

lock screen,
home screen,
system menu
and
icons
All can be separately implemented.
Say you have 4 themes on your phone, you can use icons from one, menu from other, lock screen from different one and home screen from other.

I really got it because of it's compact size. In 4 days, I'll be able to unlock its bootloader and install the xiaomi eu ROM on it. And I'm gonna use some Magisk modules to stop thermal throttling, it gets hot anyway and there's nothing I could lose xD

alottaJ, 07 Feb 2023Well it's open secret temperature issues because of SD... moreI know, it's kinda weird that the chips made by Samsung are overheating and even when they're fabricated in a "efficient" 4nm LPP process, it's obvious that it is not enough to keep the temperatures down. This phone is actually great, I really like its size, speed and the camera. My friend uses the regular S22, he is using the SD variant and has better battery life despite having a 3700mAh. MIUI is definitely having some problems in terms of efficiency. I'm gonna modify my case a little bit. Gonna add two small metal plates and if needed, I'm gonna use a external magnetic fan which I have laying around. And if nothing helps, I'm gonna return the device and look for another one. Tbh, other manufacturers got a better control over their SD 8 Gen 1 powered phones, in terms of throttling.. my Xiaomi 12 drops down to 59% of its maximum performance in the first 5 minutes of a stress test. Not acceptable :(
