This one still seems to be a bit expensive. When can we start to see a drop in the price? The 10 lite and 11 lite dropped quite a bit in price. Got the 11 lite 5G a year ago for 200€.

Man, i constantly see good seeming deals on Xiaomis, meaning the hardware is often better than average on each phone. But they seem to screw up on the software side with unbelievable bugs from what i read. Seems like just poor software engineering. And the Android & security update promises are just weak. I'd like to get a Xiaomi, but i really am too scared b/c of the poorly handled software side.
Is this all true generally about Xiaomi phones, or am i getting some "distorted" info..?
I've been going with Samsung for over 10 years now, and while they're not the fastest performing, almost all the(for me) really important stuff for a smartphone is handled really well. Like security & Android updates, durability, reliability. Especially when getting a phone for my 10y/o daughter those qualities matter heavily.
But damn, for myself, I'm really tempted by trying out one of those high-end hardware Xiaomis as they're cheap often, but the sloppy software engineering maybe explains that then(?) 😅..
This is hardly in the right comment section so apologies for this off-topic here, I'm talking about those SD 8 gen 1-Xiaomis mainly, or asking rather.

lucky, 29 Dec 2022I have been using huawei p20 for 4.5 years. It worked great... moreI had a huawei p20, for the camera only, p20 has better lens and software but it really depends on your taste of photos and color. overall, 12 lite is much cooler on temps.

No OIS is not an issue at all. I don't know just how shaky a hand can be unless you contract some illness or taking pictures/videos while riding a drilling machine. There's never been a case of blurry pic or anything when I took pictures / videos.
But yeah, it will be more reassuring to have OIS like 12T.

We're definitely getting a new MIUI widget feature on global units, i just got ,,app vault" widget and when i placed it on my home screen it became ,,steps" widget in the style just like they presented in MIUI 14.

I have done quick video camera test (Xiaomi 12 lite and Samsung A53), I found a better performance on Samsung A53 5G. Can any one confirm this or is it just me?

I have been using huawei p20 for 4.5 years. It worked great. I am deciding to buy a new phone. They advised me xiaomi 12 lite. Is it worth it? Is the quality comparable to huawei p 20, especially the camera? What do you advise me to buy?
