You'd think that having the audacity to name a new chip the "7 Gen 1" would be backed up by the chip being a revolutionary new one, but nope it's slower than a few other already horrendously slow 700 series chips.

MIUI is unbearable right now. It doesn't matter what kind of specs Xiaomi offers. As long as the software is trash the phone will be trash. Xiaomi should fix this soon.

we want cameras from Xiaomi Civi 2 , main 50 mpix 1/1.56´´ and 20 mpix ultrawide! not that crap old 64 mpix bleeee with 8 mpix ultrawide sh it!! its turning back its even worse than previous model xiaomi 12 lite which had newer even still old 108mpix 1/1.52´´ chip ,but using 64 mpix 1/2 very old crap as main camera is totally disappointment!!!

Cons: Downgraded screen ( 10 bit instead of 12 bit), downgraded back camera, slower charging.
Same android 12 miui 13, same powerful soc
Pros: thinner, 200 mah bigger battery, more efficient soc, real proximity sensor.
Not worth to upgrade.

An upgrade from the last generation all things considered.
Trades a marginally bigger battery for marginally faster charging all the while being slightly smaller and thinner and managing all that without compromising on screen size.
other than the arguably downgraded camera, it's just your standard generational leap.
It looks good and is great overall, would be a hit if priced correctly.
Glad to see Xiaomi back to biz with its newer phones.

2023 and still using bullshit 2 megapixels cam. Why don't just remove it, and make proper Ultrawide cam like 12 megapixel with support recording up to 4K 30, Idiot Engineer.

Between this and the Redmi note 12 pro speed edition i prefer the second one for mainly two reasons
1- the 3.5 mm audio jack port;
2- the side mounted fingerprint sensor.

Great spec. if it is priced rightly, it will be a great phone.
