zedigital, 21 Dec 2024Thanks for replying. I understand, but what's interest... moreYes, the color grading and the different between jpg and raw. I understood what you meant because I do encounter the same problem when shooting in raw format on my xperia especially when using custom white balance.

Example the color I get on Raw is accurate purple but the jpg will turn out to be more towards blueish and vibrant. Tbh, it pretty normal for most smartphone to post-process the raw to the same level like you're using the auto mode. Also this is why it important to have an accurate display on smartphone.

I understand, but what's interesting is the difference in the photos in the two formats. For me, I would expect that both would come out the same, differing only in the possibility of editing them, but there is a huge difference between the same photos. The photo in jpg seems to have been extremely worked on before the 'click' and that's what intrigues me. It's a shame I can't post it here to illustrate.

zedigital, 20 Dec 2024Hi! I have a Xiaomi 13 Pro (UMBINXM) and something strange ... moreIt's completely normal for phone to save both version when shooting in RAW.. At least that was the case with other phones that I have.

Hi! I have a Xiaomi 13 Pro (UMBINXM) and something strange has been happening when I take pictures in Pro mode with the RAW option, it is generating two photos, one in RAW and the other in JPG. The one in JPG format is extremely contrasted, with strong colors and very pixelated. Despite this, it is very beautiful and completely different from the one in RAW format, which is perfectly balanced and focused in its measurement. Does this happen to anyone else? Thanks

Cruz, 29 Nov 2024It really is a great phoneIf only Xiaomi offered their 4y OS updates and 5y Security updates to this phone too... Afaik it'll get only up to android 16,sad..

GBY, 02 Dec 2024Looks like 1 inch sensor is not even close as size ..is a g... moreI mean... If they did put a real 1"-sensor there the camera island would take almost most of the phone which,1. Wouldn't look aesthetically pleasing,2. There also needs to be a space for other sensors,3. The power consumption of such a huge and power hungry lens would just not be viable for a phone. All phones that advertise their "1-inch sensor" don't have a real 1" btw, they all repeat the shape of a 1" sensor however it still does bring really nice benefits. Like a brighter, more detailed image with stronger bokeh and bright, detailed photos in night without having to use a flash. So yeah,in the end it's a gimmick, however it does have its upsides for phone photography which I consider to be great, others, might just not care, yeah.

Not to mention the other 2 auxiliary cameras that still has to be there. It's just an issue of battery and physics,so yeah 1" is a "gimmick" on every 1" "cameraphone" so far. It does have a ton of advantages like a brighter image, more details, better low light performance, but let's for the sake of your comment, we will summarise it as a "gimmick".

So, I've had this phone for almost a month now. I believe I can butt in with my opinions. First of all, I got this phone for way under it's market price just by trading my Xiaomi 13T in, ended up only paying 70€, so Superb deal here.

Since I've been using Xiaomi's since 2018 the software is just feels right at home, although the Global software it came with was a tad bit bloated for me, good thing the bootloader was unlocked already, so I flashed the xiaomi.eu rom on it.

So far, so good, this phone is the best camera phone I've used so far. Originally I had bought the 13T for it's camera, but was shortly disappointed after finding out the telephoto was just meant for portraits, and that it did a pretty poor job at night time.

In an unfortunate accident I had also damaged the frame of my 13T a bit too,so I was in a rush getting the phone out of my hands before it loses its value even further. This is where this 13 Pro I got a great deal came in play. I handed my 13T in to the importer and paid the equivalent of 70€ to them and walked out with a mint 13 Pro 12/256 Ceramic Black CN Version (Global OS pre-flashed).

First thing I noticed was, damn, the screen was actually less bright than the 13T's under sunlight but that's been not much of a problem for me as it still gets quite bright, just I miss the 2600 nits of the 13T a tiny bit.

Cameras and speakers is truly where this phone shines. As I mentioned before the camera of 13T was disappointing when it came to telephoto. This phone totally blew it out of the park, like I can get clean zooms at day using even the 30x zoom. The photos that come out of the main lens is also a tad bit brighter, but not much of a difference over the 13T. 13T's main was already one of the best in its segment when I got it. Also, the telephoto can take close up shots too, which are really fun if you love to take pictures of flowers like me. The ultrawide, even though I barely use it, can and will make some fun shots. I was absolutely disappointed with how tinny the 13T sounded but man 13 Pro has one of the best phone speakers I've ever heard. There's even bass that's clearly discernible. Love how dramatic Leica Authentic can get sometimes btw,but for most of my shots I use Vibrant with AI off.

Software is the usual MIUI experience but renamed, smooth, and even smoother with the EU rom that's based on Chinese ROM.

Aesthetics and form factor. This is one of the favorite parts about this phone. This phone just looks absolutely sleek and is an absolute joy to look at. I was worried it would be a tad big for me for it's screen, but I can use it comfortably with two hands. I also absolutely love how the camera island and back of the phone looks, and it was one of the reasons for me being drawn into this phone when it was out, too.

Overall, for only 70€ (+13T),this phone was -and still is- a really solid deal that really doesn't lack in any area, perhaps excluding the zoom range - but at a such form factor,it's forgivable, and the zoom from the 3.2x telephoto lens is still impressive.

Hi DuLe, after receiving my Xiaomi 14, I've now posted some comments on that page. So pleased that I got the 14 rather than the 13 Pro, as I wasn't keen on the curved front screen, and the added flexibility that you get with the camera AI that's not yet available on the 13 series is an added benefit.

I'm just a little concerned about the stories of fogging lenses on the 14, so fingers crossed. Ironically my earlier problems with the 13 Pro have meant that hopefully I'm going to end up with a better phone in the 14. Thanks to a flash sale by Xiaomi UK, I've actually bought the 14 for less than it cost me to buy the 13 Pro from China. It's always worth waiting for their flash sales. I was even tempted to go for the 14 Ultra which was available for £849, a fantastic price.
I'll let you know how the 14 goes next week.
