Xiaomi 13 Pro to match 12S Ultra's main camera

Ro, 31 October 2022

December is just around the corner, which in turn means that Xiaomi is about to release its next flagship series. Naturally, rumors start to pile up and the latest one is all about the Xiaomi 13 Pro and most of its specs.

Perhaps the most interesting bit about this report is the camera setup. We can still expect a triple 50MP camera setup on the back but this time around, the main sensor will be borrowed from the Xiaomi 12S Ultra - a 1" Sony IMX989, 50MP sensor.

Sony and Xiaomi co-developed the sensor and the R&D cost was $15 million but ensure more light and overall performance that's hard to rival.

The rest of the specs are pretty much identical to the Xiaomi 12 Pro, though. Including the Surge C2 ISP, the Surge P2 custom chip for charging and Leica's color science. And, of course, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will sit behind the wheel.
