Leanzazzy, 08 May 2023Before the S21 series, Samsung would only provide 2 major A... moreBefore s21 series I think prices were slightly cheaper for flagship phones. (In europe you could get brand new s21 for 600euros~ and now s23 with smallest storage starts at 800euros~). At least not so high like this year or last year. If I pay over 1000euros I would expect at least 4-5 years of security updates not even mentioning OS updates. About other flaws xiaomi is the slowest manufacturer to react to "Zero-Day" issues. Samsung and Apple are very good with that.

I don't know how many years of "security patches" nor do I care.
I also have a Note 9 but didn't get any update in Feb 2023. I do remember getting an update somewhere in early 2022.

Hanif Fikri, 08 May 2023Bruh the samsung fans said xiaomi sucks because one of the ... moreIf you have money yea it was worth to upgrade from s22u to s23u. Especially for europeans because s22u uses exynos cpu and s23u has snapdragon gen 2. Much better performance and way better battery. Personally I've upgraded from s21+ just for battery life because my previous unit(s21+ with exynos) lasted 5hours(SOT)~ from 100% to 10%. And now with snapdragon cpu it lasts from 85% to 30% about the same as before. But much more juice is left. And now when my battery is great I can focus on holding to it for 3-5years. For some people battery is not main factor and they are not changing it like you said every 1-2 years. I have a bunch of colleagues still using galaxy A51, S20, S9+, S21U and they are not planning of upgrading this year or another(maybe if screen gets cracked lol). So yea longer support with OS updates is very important. If you see 2-3 people changing phones every year that doesn't mean that everybody is doing that. Most of us including me don't have enough money to change phones every year.

David 040882, 06 May 2023I wish I lived in China sometimes....Buy it from any of the resellers currently selling it to other markets. You can even get it to EU without paying VAT if you don't mind waiting a bit of extra postage time.
Still, most of us are waiting for the global release. At least in my country any phone sold in a store has a 3 year warranty including these Xiaomi phones.
I hope the global release is coming very soon.

Meanwhile samsung user : "Wow definitely worth the upgrade to s23 ultra coming from s22 ultra!). Like most sam users upgrade their phone anyway just within 1-2 years of usage despite there is another 2 years left of O.S updates haha(but at the same time they keep bashing xiaomi and other brands for lacking more updates in O.S)..

If phone doesn't support a specific band used in some region you can't unlock it. I think you are talking about carrier lock and that's different. If you buy china version and use it in europe you will get poor signal(or no signal at all in some areas).

hope that one day there will be a smartphone with a battery capacity of over 15000 mAH equipped with embedded digital tv tuner hardware; Actually people just need entertainment. and entertainment seems to have value when it is cheap and of good quality. or even free. it feels very sinful when TV broadcasts that used to be free are analog. then it becomes expensive when it goes digital, because not everyone can afford to buy digital tv or digital broadcast receiving devices. thus the smartphone market will have confidence again as a useful device for the community and will no longer grow stagnant, because people are tired of the same features that are starting to have no benefit. even though it is equipped with a 5G network or advanced technology in the future.

derrr, 02 May 202339,075.28 Thai Baht about 990 euros hereIt's being sold for more even in China. It makes no sense that this is the price at all. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is literally €1299 here. How is the Ultra only going to be €999? Sure without the ridiculous 24% VAT we are paying I could see it being €999.
In any case. I don't care what it costs. I will get it. They just need to release it already.
