Will Xiaomi continue to push updates via the Hyper OS logo or their App Store?

Plus, installing a tempered glass screen protector is a much easier feat. Curved screens require you to use a UV light machine to apply tempered glass protectors, which is a more complicated and more expensive process.
The 2-3 month firmware update policy for Xiaomi devices applies to both security and QOL updates, that you can access in About phone -> "Xiaomi HyperOS" logo.
The QOL updates include system apps like the default launcher, Lock Screen, Notes, Gallery, and of course, Camera.
Most of the time though, you'll only receive security patches, so do keep an eye on the update notes each time you want to update your firmware.
For OS updates, it's usually at Q1 or early Q2 of every new year, which is about 2-6 months after Xiaomi releases their new flagships on November/December the year before. Their higher end devices (with the Xiaomi branding) will usually receive OS updates the earliest, while their budget ones (Redmi and Poco) will be last.

I hated curved screens because as mentioned issues of handling (quite slippery), poor viewing (i don't have a curved TV or laptop so..) and accidental touches. Those are my serious reservations hence i have not bought the Honor 200 or the Edge 50 Fusions.
You did mentioned 2-3 months for Xiaomi update policy. Is that the Hyper OS update? Or the security update? Or quality of life update to cameras, etc.?
I don't do much selfie photos. My main priority is the main and ultrawide if they both have consistent performance (white balance, HDR, contrast, sharpness, low noise levels, etc.); a telephoto would be a "psychological" advantage if one phone has one.

Its software update policy is not as ambiguous as you like to say; every 2-3 months, which isn't great, but it's better to have updates than nothing at all. It's a relatively small price to pay for an otherwise excellent phone.
The Honor 200 is another very solid phone that would surely fit your photography needs, and it comes with a better selfie camera than the 13T. No need to worry about that curved screen if you're careful with handling it. Every phone, no matter how good their Gorilla Glass protection is, will break if they fall from a height.
The Moto Edge 50 Fusion has decent cameras, but doesn't come with a telephoto lens like the Xiaomi 13T and Honor 200. In my opinion, it's the worst choice out of the three because of its lackluster performance, lack of HDR support for video streaming, and is still on Wi-Fi 5.

The phone is taller, wider and heavier than the previous model.
Exynos chips are the worse when it comes to thermals, battery life and performance.
And there are others that are better value + somewhat better specs for the same price.

Gino76ph, 11 Aug 2024I don't mind being called indecisive on this matter.
... moreYou cancelled your oder? Oh, boo-hoo. You know, for a skeptic like you, I think you'd better off with a Samsung instead, specifically the Galaxy A55.
Its cameras won't blow you away, nor does it have the cleanest software experience. But it has excellent build quality, great durability with GG Victus+, IP67, decent battery life, long and frequent software updates, and a micro SD slot.
If somehow, the A55 still isn't good enough for you. Then sorry pal, I can't help you any longer. You've already asked a billion questions already, I can't possibly dedicate my life answering all of your questions until you eventually, at last, get the phone that suits every single one of your needs 😮💨

I think choosing a phone can either almost rocket science pr you just have to look at what you really want based on your priorities and budget.
If someone can help me prove that an Honor 200 has very subtle curves than a Moto Edge 50 Fusion then I'm all ears. if no one then I'll just have to decide for myself.

Anonymous, 10 Aug 2024Hope it works out for you 👍🏻Well, in just over 24 hours I have cancelled my order of the Honor 200 phone. I was scared of the front screen (not that durable), No Dolby Atmos and the updates may be not that fast.
I fell in love with my old Moto G84 and i'm now eyeing either a Moto G85 or the Moto Edge 50 Fusion. I have read many good things about that phone.
Any thoughts?

But, like yourself I would still pick up a device with Snapdragon.
That is why I have decided to buy the Honor 200. The specs and the price were too compelling to ignore. I will try it. if i don't like it my next one would probably be a Motorola. I was pleasantly surprised with the G84 and with the new Edge 50 i feel that they have listened to feedback and have vastly improved both the hardware and software and the UI since.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2024Then it comes down to software vs hardware preference. If I ask you...which would you prefer and choose?
Would you rather get a device with top-notch hardware but with slow updates and poor build quality (*cough* Xiaomi)
or...
Specs that are "behind" than the rest of the other Android players but makes up for better build quality and quicker updates (*cough* Samsung)?
And what are your thoughts on Honor? (The 200 & 200 Pro seems to have compelling specs and features)

Both the 13T and vanilla S23 are within the rpice range that I can afford. I avoid buying first hand on their respective websites as the deals are still not good enough for me. These companies are all stingy when it comes to offers and discounts and it has been like that for a few years now because of the cost of living, etc.
