Xiaomi 14T Pro review

GSMArena Team, 26 September 2024.

Design, build quality, handling

The Xiaomi 14T Pro has not evolved that much since the 13T Pro, but its design has been refined further to make it feel more premium. The phone is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance, it has a flat front and frame, and a curved rear panel.

Xiaomi 14T Pro review

Xiaomi has chosen metal-like colors for the Xiaomi 14T Pro, something that has become a trend since the iPhone 15 Pro titanium generation. That is why the new color options are Titan Gray (ours), Titan Blue, and Titan Black.

There is no titanium on the Xiaomi 14T Pro, despite the color names. The phone has a glass front panel of unspecified make, an aluminum frame, and a slightly curved glass back.

The frame and the back have matching colors and a matte finish.

Xiaomi 14T Pro review

The metal camera tile housing the entire imaging department is still square shaped. All three cameras and the LED flash have protruding metal rings, adding more metal accents to the already all-metal feel and look of the Xiaomi 14T Pro.

And since the camera housing also has a matching color to the rest of the phone, the whole design feels seamless, almost unibody-like. And we do like this new look.

The entire front is home to the 6.67-inch CrystalRes display which has reasonably slim bezels. It's of course high resolution, high refresh rate, high bit depth, high dynamic range - all that.

Xiaomi 14T Pro review

The Xiaomi 14T Pro has an under-display fingerprint scanner, which works flawlessly. It has new animations and vibrations, which make it feel even faster.

The 14T Pro also features a hybrid stereo speaker system with Dolby Atmos, which has the earpiece, together with a top outlet, act as one of the speakers. The other speaker is at the bottom, next to the USB-C port.

The back of the Xiaomi 14T Pro looks marvelous. The illusion for an all-metal look is successful thanks to the chosen color(s) and matte finish.

Xiaomi 14T Pro review

The metal camera housing is neat and the new four metal rings around the cameras and the flash win some more points for modern and premium looks.

The Xiaomi 14T Pro is an incredibly well-built phone, which feels solid in the hand. There is not much of a secure grip, though, and while not the most slippery device either, we think many people will opt for the bundled case and hide its looks in favor of security.

Xiaomi 14T Pro review

On a positive note, if you decide against the case, you will enjoy fingerprint-resistant design and just enough grip to get you through most of the day-to-day tasks.

Overall, we did like the Xiaomi 14T Pro design and build quite a lot, and we think most people will appreciate it just as much.
