Xiaomi 14T Pro review
Display
The Xiaomi 14T Pro appears to feature the same 6.67-inch CrystalRes OLED screen used on the 13T Pro. It has a 1220x2712px resolution, 12-bit color depth, and up to 144Hz refresh rate.
The panel supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision standards and it is recognized as such across all major streaming platforms. The screen also supports high-frequency PWM dimming at 2880Hz for those of you who have sensitive eyes and 480Hz touch sampling rate for faster responsiveness.
There has been one update since last year and that is the peak brightness, now up to 4,000 nits.
Xiaomi offers Sunlight mode, which now boosts the maximum manual brightness you can get when using the brightness scrubber. It is like Samsung's Extra Brightness option. With this mode turned OFF, the maximum brightness we measured was 560 nits.
When opting for the Sunlight mode we captured 752 nits of maximum brightness. The maximum possible brightness in Automatic mode was 1228 nits.
The minimum brightness measured on white colors was 2.1 nits.
Refresh rate
Xiaomi's display options offer two modes - Automatic and Custom (60Hz or up to 144Hz).
Automatic and Custom 144Hz are identical. They use 120Hz for most apps and the OS UI, and switch to 60Hz for static content and streaming. 144Hz is used on compatible apps such as games and benchmarks.
The only time we observed 30Hz was for the Always-On Display and this is the lowest mode the screen supports.
Xiaomi 14T Pro battery life
The 14T Pro is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, the same capacity as on the previous model. In our Active Use testing we got more or less the same result in gaming, somewhat of a lower endurance in voice calls, a one-hour increase in video playback and a two-hour improvement in web browsing. It's not looking like a major upgrade in terms of longevity overall, but it's not a bad showing either. Potential rivals generally last longer in video playback, while the Xiaomi is above average in web browsing and gaming.
Our new Active Use Score is an estimate of how long the battery will last if you use the device with a mix of all four test activities. You can adjust the calculation based on your usage pattern using the sliders below. You can read about our current battery life testing procedure here. For a comprehensive list of all tested devices so far, head this way.
Charging speed
The 14T Pro is rated for up to 120W of charging power, but it ships without an adapter, so it's up to you to source a charger that can deliver that. We tested with a 120W Xiaomi brick we had from an older device and our power meter peaked at 98W, which is about as close enough to promised as we could hope for.
We clocked 23 minutes from empty to full and 15 minutes got us to 74% - pretty impressive numbers.
The 14T Pro supports wireless charging too, somewhat of a major addition to the lineup, though it's only the Pro that gets it. The specs say it maxes out at 50W and should take as little as 45 minutes for a full charge with the right proprietary peripherals.
Speaker test
The Xiaomi 14T Pro has a typical hybrid stereo speaker setup. It has the two speakers placed on its top and bottom sides behind dedicated grilles. The top speaker also acts as an earpiece, and that's why it has another front-facing outlet.
Bottom speaker • Top speaker • Earpiece
The balance is great even though the bottom speaker is naturally louder and with richer output.
The speakers scored a Good mark on our test, a hair shy of Very Good. The audio quality is superb with rich vocals, well-presented high range and enough bass for the size.
Use the Playback controls to listen to the phone sample recordings (best use headphones). We measure the average loudness of the speakers in LUFS. A lower absolute value means a louder sound. A look at the frequency response chart will tell you how far off the ideal "0db" flat line is the reproduction of the bass, treble, and mid frequencies. You can add more phones to compare how they differ. The scores and ratings are not comparable with our older loudspeaker test. Learn more about how we test here.

In my opinion this seems to be the sales force from phone manufacturer. The same thing I used to share about my old Xiaomi Redmi 4x. It is clearly another dilemma but I believe customer is still always number one in their heart. Therefore listening t...
