Where i live it is priced exactly same as Galaxy Note 10 Plus. No one will buy a Xiaomi phone priced exactly same as the latest Galaxy Note flagship.

Yes, for once, with it's selling price, this omission of Micro SD slot is really a cost cutting measure, and each generation of Xiaomi flagship follow this trend, even the Mi Note and Mi Mix series. Then, Google owns Nexus and Pixel series follow this trend. Then the Oneplus copy exactly what makes Xiaomi Mi3 so successful, and makes it to the west market.
I know, Micro SD card is useful, even I miss the 3.5mm jack, notificatiin light, and removable battery. It is all gone. Now only big names like Samsung, LG, Sony still retain Micro SD slot, not so much from other flagship model to retain this feature.
If you want Micro SD slot for this year flagship, Samsung might be the only active choice.

Certainly can't compete with the 108mp HMX (1/1.33" sensor).
Camera is the weakest point of the OnePlus 8, not to mention the price.
It's just a rebranded OnePlus 7t with SD865.

If you buy a Xiaomi smartphone from anyone other than an authorized Xiaomi dealer for your country, you will be denied any post-sale service from Xiaomi. No warranty, no exchange, no repair, no nothing. (Not sure about the updates. For some versions, you may still get some kind of updates, but for other versions, you get no updates at all.)
