Om the other hand, 256 GB of storage should be plenty AT THE MOMENT for hundreds of apps, games, tens of thousands of pictures and days worth of music files. And, since this is only going to increase, storage shouldn’t be much of an issue, for most people. The Galaxy S20 Ultra already has a 512 GB version, the Mi 10 Ultra will also have a 512 GB option, so it’s just a matter of time before this amount of memory makes its way to mid-range devices. Next year, we’ll probably see the Mi 11 Lite have a 512 GB version, while some flagships will move on to 1 TB. That’s probably why they are ditching the card slot. The internal memory is much faster anyway, so, unless you want to keep a ton of videos in your phone’s memory, the internal storage is much better suited for running the games and the apps of your choice.

For low-end devices, the card slot is still necessary, as 32 GB (or even 64 GB) can fill up very fast. Once their storage gets to ~128 GB as a standard, they’ll probably ditch the SD slot for those phones as well.

A very good phone. AMOLED, 5G, Headphone Jack, Notification light, in screen fingerprint scanner, dual sim (not in 5G mode). I'm loving it.

Ok so 5G is cool, And specs are OK.
But why can't a 5G phone have removable storage?? I hope this is not a trend! Why would I want to buy a new phone and spend 5 hrs transferring my 64GB of files to it and then start with a new phone with no available ram drive space!?
I always pop my old SD card out of my old phone and into a new phone. I instantly have all my recent pictures and all of my music ready to go.
Why is that such a sin?? Can't we have anything removable anymore?
      FAIL.
After a pleasant experience with my MI A2, I was looking forward to upgrading to a new xiaomi. But not any longer I may have to give up my prized infrared port. But I refuse to give up my removable storage, as well as my headphone jack.
Why is xiaomi suddenly charging more and delivering less? Not good.
      Bad xaiomi, Bad!

Serious problem receiving calls from some Samsung. I've contacted Mi Support. They proposed deleting data (didn't work), reseting the phone or getting it for service (not willing for a brand new phone), and said nothing about this specific issue. Seems to be a software MIUI problem (as my carrier in Greece informed me), hopefully to be addressed in some next MR MIUI update.

I don't know what the user with the Huawei is doing to drain the Mi 10 Lite’s battery so fast, especially when GSMArena’s review has revealed very good battery durability, managing to outperform all competitors, in almost every usage scenario.

I find it highly unlikely that the phone only lasts for 4 hours, even while gaming. Maybe the user has a faulty unit?

It’s great to hear that the speaker is of good quality, as I tend to listen to Spotify while gaming.

Also, the plastic frame is one of the main reasons that I chose this phone over other Snapdragon 765 ones.

I'm not sure if anyone cares, but I've had this phone for a few weeks and here are my thoughts. I have the global 8gb/256 version (still on MIUI 11) and I have been really impressed! Runs smoothly, crazy long battery life (I've tried to kill it in a day, to no avail), screen is amazing for the price (I prefer a very small notch to a hole, wish it was 90hz), loudspeaker at the bottom had really great sound but does not get overly loud.

What I don't like, bezels could be smaller and perhaps more even (bottom is larger), camera's could be better (not terrible, just acceptable), wish the frame was metal not plastic (I dropped it though and the plastic frame held up), wish it had dual speakers as the bottom one is great but could be louder.

                      Overall I'm really happy!

Datsun, 27 Jul 2020Unfortunately that variant is only available Online. It is ... moreThank you for your reply! I’m not looking for a version specifically made for Europe. I just want the global version of the phone (in 8/256 GB variant) to be available in Europe. And it’s fine if it’s available only in online stores, I preffer it that way. They should just make it more widely available, since you can only find it on 2-3 online stores in Europe. And that’s a shame, because the OnePlus Nord even has a 12/256 GB variant, yet you can barely find the 8/256 GB variant of the Mi 10 Lite 5G.

I hope this will change in the next few weeks. If Xiaomi releases such a nice, future-proof 5G phone, they might as well make sure that you are getting enough RAM and enough internal memory to have everything running super smooth, have enough room for plenty of apps/videos/files and to properly benefit from the advanced features of MIUI 12.
