I, for one, am against thick phones. For the past ~15 years, phone makers have tried to come out with slimmer and slimmer phones (even in the non-smartphone days, we had the Motorola RAZR an ROKR, just to name a few). They got to ~7 mm, after which they kind of gave up on it and now, unfortunately, we get thicker phones (even flagships!), at about 9 mm.
I'm very happy that the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G manages to keep the thickness under 8 mm, while also having a +4000 mAh battery. If phone makers could just find a way to squeeze the camera modules inside the case (without them protruding from the back like that), it would be even better.

It says that if a 6.1 inch smartphone could only get 1 mm thicker, the battery could go all the way from 3500-4000 maH to 5000 MaH. Except, smartphone manufacturers want to make their phone seem cooler, and slimmer means the battery will eventually degrade faster, making consumers wanting an upgrade.
Same thing with cameras. If they could just make their phones a bit thicker.

Hey everyone! I bought mi 9se, first of all it had a nice 48 mpx camera, I've really enjoyed it, cropping and editing was never create issue! But when I updated, update always insisted like a flue! Then 48 mpx camera became ugly for cropping, there are lines like samsung phones camera. I think they began cooperated with Samsung. First of all, 48 mpx camera of xiaomi mi 9 se was supplied by Sony. Looks like Sony gave them very nice camera configuration! After xiaomi's Samsung corporation they have ruined my 48 mpx camera quality! If you buy this phone check it for camera of 48 mpx and crop it if you don't see any ugly lines then buy it! After all never trust their update

iLoveEeEe, 25 Apr 2020Lately there are so many people calling Apple to turn its S... moreThere are bigger because they have a purpose. They don't fill the phones with air just to become bigger.. Bigger means bigger battery , bigger means more room for cameras. Do you think it is easy to put a 4.160 batery in 5 inche phone ? and stick all those parts with this massive battery ?? why do you think SE has only 1821 mah. ( in 6 months with se you will running to buy powerbanks)

Well, Lenovo has near-stock Android and, like I have said, their battery optimization is extreme. And since MIUI has a lot more options than the near-stock Android of Lenovo devices, I'm hopeful that we'll be able to keep our apps running in the background. Besides, things get added and removed all the time in OSes, so even if apps don't get closed now, who knows how they will handle the situation in MIUI 12?
I think that they should let users decide if they want the OS to go for high performance or for long lasting battery, maybe with a simple toggle in the settings menu. Phones nowadays are very powerful and many people might want a „desktop-like“ experience, where you can switch between several apps without the OS constantly closing them down. Then, when you go on a trip, you could just turn on that toggle to save the battery by closing background apps.
Friend, it looks like we're going to have to „bite the bullet“ and try the Mi 10 Lite 5G for ourselves! I hope it will be just how we want and exceed our expectations!

Spanky, 22 Apr 2020Well, I haven't seen anyone complaon about it, so far. Also... moreIt's a very well known thing in the mobile world, just google it. There are many websites explaining what to do to prevent the issue, however users are still reporting problems.
Xiaomi does this to extend battery life, so they can brag about it, but it certainly hampers user experience, at least out of the box.

Well, I haven't seen anyone complaon about it, so far. Also, MIUI seems to have a ton of options and settings, so I don't think it's going to be a problem.
Where did you hear/read that Xiaomi does aggressive memory/battery management in MIUI, since your phone didn't have such issues?

Spanky, 21 Apr 2020No problem. I'm actually very curious about this issue, too... moreYeah, it would be great to learn more.
The only Xiaomi I owned was a Mi A3, which is an Android One phone and it had no issues with RAM management. It had 4GB of RAM, btw.
My concern is actually about whether the agressive memory management can be successfully overcome with MIUI's settings.
I know MIUI provides settings to choose which apps to keep running always (and to autostart), but what I'd like to know is if these settings actually and really work consistently
If someone knows the answer first-hand, I'd appreciate it very much.

The Lenovo that I'm talking about has 4 GB of RAM, so limited memory is not really an explanation or a reason for them to force-close apps. How much memory did your Xiaomi device have?

Can anyone here who is using a Xiaomi phone tell us how's the background app management with their phone?
I mean, does MIUI kill apps running in the background, such as messaging apps, sports score apps, reminder apps, phone automation apps, etc?

If I accidentally bring up the „latest apps“ list, even for just a few seconds, the running app has to restart from the beginning. I disabled battery optimizations for apps and removed all restrictions, but it still happens. VERY annoying, especially for games. Even Spotify closes randomly and I can't exit the current app to restart it, because then the currently running app closes as well!

I'm looking to buy this phone when it's released, but first can anyone tell if Xiaomi has made their MIUI any easier for the average user in terms of its background app/memory management?
It seems that users have to go through a lot of effort to prevent MIUI from killing their apps in the background..and that really hampers user experience..

Accurate info on spec for Mi 10 Lite 5G is currently very scarce. Some unboxing videos on Youtube at the moment look suspicious and likely not real.

Shebba, 18 Apr 2020Are you satisfied about mi 10 lite specification? i am not...If there would have been a punch hole notch and smaller chin, it would have been more appealing (as a design). After all, it's Snapdragon 765G and 1080p AMOLED HDR display, for 350 euros, in a slim and relatively light body.
