I hope its just a strategic pricing in Xiaomi part due to low supply and current world situation. Also I think they do not want to cannibalise their own Redmi series such as the Redmi K30 Pro which is in the midrange section. Also it gives them opportunity to play with the pricing later once other competitors launch their phones. If its not the case, then they are probably following Apple and Samsung footsteps, to put stigma that Mi series is definitely a premium series. Redmi is midrange.

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2020Did you just said S20 Ultra is more of a finished product b... moreYes. Most sane buyers would choose Samsung over a Chinese brand if they can afford it.
The price of the Mi 10 Pro is simply not competitive. I expect that Xiaomi is trying to charge high prices while production is constrained, only to drop significantly in a couple of months.
Right now, this is a bad buy.

Looks like the global version of Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are single SIM phones, not dual SIM like their Chinese version. Check out Mi official website!

Would rather invest a bit more and buy S20 Ultra, it is more of a finished product, 120HZ, ultra zoom, Samsung. Price is not justified!

Absolutely ludicrous pricing. Smartphone manufacturers are seeing unprecedented low sales during CoVID-19 and Xiaomi are charing 30% more than the like for like product in China? Good luck. Mi 10 Pro starting at €1000. Silly move.

2020 smarphone prices are ridiculous!! Flagships go very expensive without offering a real reason for paying that price.
Mid-rangers are going expensive as well and they are being downgraded in many specifications.
I'm beginning to think i'm not going to buy phones anymore unless my current phone completely dies
