But camera software can't replace the hardware. Just look at Pixel 5 (with arguably the best phone camera software) with no telephoto camera and tell me it's zooming capabilities is better than a S21 Ultra with a 10x periscope zoom camera.

          There is no way S21/S21+ has better camera quality than a phone like the Mi 10 Ultra, which has a significantly better main camera, 2 telephoto cameras (5x and 2x optical zoom), while the S21/+ uses the old 12MP sensor from S20/+ and it's 3x hybrid optical zoom is equivalent to around 2.5x optical zoom like on the iPhone 12 Pro Max (the cheaper S20 FE has a proper 3x optical zoom camera). And the fact that S21/+ brings no improvement in camera hardware from last year's model is disappointing.

I use this phone from September onward. In the beginning the photos were not that great as the firmware was not perfect. The later firmware versions made photography with this phone par excellence. After everything being said, like beauty, an image matures in the eyes of the beholder.
