Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra flaunts IP68 rating in underwater unboxing

Xiaomi's Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra are the first with an official IP rating, so why not unbox the Ultra underwater?

Xiaomi posted a video of a diver unboxing a fully-operational Mi 11 Ultra in a pool or a tank. T-Mobile used to do these unboxings for waterproof devices like the Samsung Galaxy phones back in the day.

Outside of its IP68 rating for a depth of 1.5 meters for a duration of 30 minutes, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra packs the latest Snapdragon 888 chip, a 6.81-inch AMOLED of 1440p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate and a 5,000mAh battery.

But the Ultra's key selling point is likely the camera setup - it has Samsung's largest 1/1.12" 50MP GN2 sensor for its main camera, a 48MP 5x periscope camera and a 48MP 12mm ultrawide.

I'm having Mi 11 Ultra and it didn't survive some water splashes. I visited the service center and they said that that water damage doesn't come under warranty. Then why does the company certifies IP68 water rating.
