Its been a week since I am using Xiaomi Mi3, so I will be of a great help to others if I put my review for this phone.
Before that, let me clarify that:
1) Xiaomi Mi3 is the first product I bought on flipkart.com. I succeeded in second try.
2) I am in no way attached or interested in doing Xiaomi publicity.
I ordered this phone at flipkart.com on 19th of August and received it on 22nd August.
Flipkart had delivered quickly in a good packing by cash on delivery. I appreciate their services.
On opening the box, I was stunned to look at this premium looking handset. The build quality is by far the best a smart phone can have as per my view. This is a very slim phone. The corning gorilla glass is pretty obvious by merely looking and touching it. I have not used any screen guard since 1 week and their isn’t a single scratch on it.
The 2 negatives as per my opinion are
1) Size, it is large for a 5’ screen due to large space at top & bottom. It might have been smaller.
2) The sharp corners may feel a bit uncomfortable in the pocket. It might have been curved on corners. (but I let go on these points on account of premium looks)
Now lets talk about MIUI. This is the OS highly customized from android kitkat on which the Xiaomi Mi3 operates. No bloatwares are installed and all the customizations are very user friendly. Several preinstalled apps are very useful like cleaner, power saver, virus scanner, torch etc. The UI is clean, attractive and pleasant to use.
The screen is 5’ with 441 ppi density. HD videos play smooth. Colours are attractive and pleasant. U can set the color temperature and saturation.
The operations are very smooth. There is no lags or hangs at all while browsing, playing games or using apps. It does heat a little bit while heavy browsing and playing games while 3G is on, but never in normal routine use or calls.
Camera quality is awesome outdoors & indoors and good in very low light conditions using flash. Video shooting is amazing in even 720p. There is simple mode given with minimal settings for regular user and advance mode if u want to set the settings as per ur requirement. Front camera detects ur age and sex when u look at it..!! (although error range is very high as it relies on ur looks :-D to decide). it’s a kind of fun to use this like talking tom and talking ginger.
People out there are claiming that their battery lasted for 3 days, but in my 1 week use it has lasted for 1 day and 8 hour at max and 22 hour minimum. It used to take 2 hour 30 min for 100% charging. Upto 60%, charging is very fast within 1 hr but there after its slow. Its heats a little bit while charging but thts normal I think.
The people might not have yet noticed but I coudn’t resist to note is the “vibration”. Its very different and awesome. When u open the clock, there appears analog clock and with every tick tok of the second hang u feel mild vibrations so it feels like u r holding a small alarm clock actually. That’s pretty interesting.
The most important NEGATIVE point to consider is very less number of service centres across the country. I live in Gujarat and nearest service centre for me is 200Km away that too is non functional as someone said in previous review. So, basically It’s kind of a gamble to risk ur 13,999/- and expect that u need not have to run to and fro to service centre. XIAOMI MUST REPIDELY OPEN UP NEW SERVICE CENTRES IF THEY WANT TO SUSTAIN THE SALE.
Overall, in less than 14K price, this phone is worth buying and value for each penny u spend. Xiaomi has given premium quality & features at unbelievable price. And for me, Xiaomi is nothing less than a premium brand. I might have bought some sony or micromax phone costing >18,000 and specification almost half than what this is having. Xiaome has saved my 5000 Rs. Thanks a lot. Most welcome to India. We needed you. Please open more service centres, expand your sale, put adequate handsets in market and create a milestone in Indian smartphone history.

Some guys who disgusted because of not get chance to buy this phone are simply give bad review here. In my personal opinion this phone is awesome. Till i am not facing any problem in this phone. Its worthy phone to buy. This phone cost only 13999 rupees so that we can understand that how the big companies are looting our money. I spent thousands of moneys for buying branded mobile phone. That branded companies phone have many compliant too. But some people call this phone as chinese, why? Even our laptops, mobile, tv, washing machine etc all are made in china.
