I got the mobile on the first sale 22 July. As a user of more than two weeks, it is an awesome device. If you don't trust me, just grab if any of your friends are having it. When you feel it you will love it. It not only looks and feels premium, but also works as a high end device. It is a premium device. I read comments about chinese engineering & american engineering, please don't be biased by the chinese brand, it not a yet another chinese brand or mobile.

There are 3 performance modes. 1.High performance 2. Balance 3. Battery Saving. In High Performance my mobile Antutu benchmark result is 34762, stays top in the rankings.

I have installed Asphalt 8 Airborne, Frontline Commando all I high graphics intensive games. Plays without any lag at all.

I tested choosing the Battery Saving option and played the games. It played well without any lag in even Battery Saving mode. Think what it could do in High Performance mode.

Heating Issue. When you play Asphalt 8 , which smartphone doesn't get warm?

I have Note 2 also, it also gets warm when playing Asphalt 8. I didn't find any significant increase in heating comparatively to any other smartphone.

I think, People hear use Mi3 for first time and they play games and they sense the warm and decide it heats up, without knowing what other smartphone does. Every phone in market right now heats up when using graphic intensive apps.

Battery Backup outstanding. I operated for a whole day, with 3g, wifi, gaming , calls, with screen brightness of 75% & in Balance Setting Mode. I still had juice left to charge still next day. If you use Auto Brightness or reduce the screen brightness with Battery saving mode, it can easily last for 1.5 days. Battery charges in less than 2 hours.

Themes... Guys trust me , whole lot of themse.. i can't stop seeing them. Been glued to it. The design, look everything so good. The UI 'MIUI' interface is a the icing on top. Some may not like the apps being rounded in shape, especially who are used to typical android apps shape. They can use any launcher such as Nova Launcher, once installed it gives the look and feel of the typical android interface. The sky is the limit for 'MIUI' customization. You can select different components from different themes and use as your own them in whatever way you like.


Camera: Outdoor pics are awesome. I agree under low light it does shows some grains only when you zoom. But guys it is not a cam, it is a mobile. And trust those grains aren't visible unless you zoom in completely. Secondary camera's age & gender detection is a real funny feature. It is just a funny feature, age changes depending upon the amount of light falling on the face, but will make you guys laugh with your friends.

USB OTG works very well with pendrive and External Hard Disk. Able to connect 1 TB WD my passport HDD and play video from it. If anybody wants to know how to connect External HDD, use USB Stick Plugin & Total commander so that NTFS file format will be detected. The same with pendrives if its FAT32 it can detect directly, else install the above apps.

The phone looks beautiful and feels awesome. It is very slippery so a TPU Case or any case would be advisable. AND TO THOSE WHO SAYS THERE IS NO INFO ABOUT GORILLA GLASS 3 IN OFFICIAL WEBSITE. Received my mi3 today.. People commenting negative about this phone really need to go n get some life.. i mean there are some shortcomings like lack of service centres, but trust me,thou moto has service centres,but they are equally pathetic,, eventually xiaomi service centres wud grow in number..

Cutting it short,no long reviews.. this phone is something Complete in itself(except that it lacks memo slot-i phones dont have one either,den y complain) & this is a masterpiece..
love it..

hello guys,,,

after using this phone for one day..
i will be telling the problems i have faced..
everybody knows the positive points..

1. phone heats up quickly if you are on 3g or if u play for about 15mins..
2. phone gets warm while watching videos of full hd...
3. i was not able to play music files..first..then after i rebooted..i could play them..but no sound came may be a software bug..
4. after i rebooted..i could play mp3 songs. and also i could hear sound..but my wifi signal was not showing..so again i rebooted..then all prblems were solved.
5. basically phone is good over all..but due to some software bugs..which can get solved after updating the firmware
6.charger is of lowest quality..its heats up a lot..while charging..
7.play store works..fine..but also stops in between due to unexpected error..
8.and i got this phone in the 5th july sale..
since everybody got an update of 600mb..who purchased before 5th aug..but i dint get update..i had to update the phone by downloading the update from miui website..

AnonD-292179, 08 Aug 2014i am facing the same problem..if i remove the screen cover ... moreno u will not coz with screen guard there is a cut over the proximity sensor like front camera, so the film that has come with the phone u can just cut the upper portion which is covering proximity sensor and camera till u get a Screen Guard

Xiaomi Mi3 is no Doubt is the best smart Phone under 15K,having great Spec.
In one word A Value For Money (A quality Product) ,There is no need to buy Costly Smart Phone around 30K and above if same Specification is available in front of you Go and Grab it.

True when Mi1 is launched 3 years back, its unprecedented low price compared to any smartphone in the market has brought a huge impact to China smartphone industry. Many media, reviewers and IT organization said that it's just a short-term hype and it will fall quickly. Guess what, XiaoMi survived through Mi1, Mi2, Mi3 and now it's on its 4th generation Mi4. It also became one of the fastest growing company in China these few years, from nothing to the top selling brand in China. If it were to fall it would have fall during its first generation and wouldn't exists now.
Now, XiaoMi no longer has the "unprecedented low price". They already managed to bring down the prices of smartphone in China and in the world. Many brands in China already started rolling out flagships at XiaoMi's standard price, 2000 RMB, including Huawei, ZTE, MeiZu, OnePlus; just to compete against XiaoMi.
XiaoMi phones are not at "unprecedented low price" anymore, they are at the standard price, the standard of 2000 RMB which is influenced by themselves to the smartphones industry. If XiaoMi were to fall due to this reason, then all these brands will be together too, and the chance is none, IMPOSSIBLE.

Oppo doesn't really deserve much. Vivo is the one who pushed up the quality, design and high-end standard of China smartphones, and XiaoMi is the one who pushed down the price to such an affordable standard now.

I am just feeling weird because I as a traveler always find some XiaoMi users all around but you as someone who lived there permanently can't find XiaoMi users around? That's why I'm doubting you because none of my friends who're living in China would said so. XiaoMi is the most frequently seen smartphone brand in China. Probably just because the places I traveled to is different from where you're living as China is just huge, I guess.
