I hv not use mi3...but seeing all the features...I must say..this is a super duper phone...it is not value for the money..but it is more than 4-5 times the value for the money....because such hardwares are only provided in high end phones like galaxy s5, xperia z2 etc.....I can't believe that a 14k phone is providing snapdragon 800 chipset, quadcore 2.3 ghz krait cpu, adreno 330 gpu and much more...really bang for the buck

one of the very useful features is "call recorder".
go to phone dial screen, press menu button, "setting" -> "Record calls" -> enable "Record automatically".
when you make a phone call, call recorder will work in the background.
all recorded messages can be accessed through "recorder".
With Mi cloud enabled, your voice files will upload to the Mi cloud server automatically.
you can access your recorded voice files at anytime even you have erased and reset your phone, just login in to Mi cloud account. you can access all previous recorded messages from the Mi cloud server.
recently, a client of mine argued with me by saying "I never said that!" then I search the Mi cloud and download the particular voice file and email him as evidence.

for you information only. Avoid using SIM adapter. If you have a micro or nano SIM, it's better to get yourself a standard size SIM (also known as mini SIM).
many Indian customers damage the SIM slot by using SIM adapter and get stuck. No SIM adapter. Use a standard size SIM card (aka mini SIM card)

It is rather surprising,why there is no user manual available on line?I would like to wait till doubts like Tv out,type of FM(stereo/mono)are clarified.Also on the flip side non replaceable battery is a deterrent.

I would suggest to opt for Micromax canvas knight in same price range. after all its Indian company. All the specifications and benchmark results are top notch. plus it looks way more attractive than xiaomi. Myself using it over a month! I dont understand all this hype about xiaomi phones! canvas knight is any day better guys.

I faced the same problem before. Connect the phone to Wi-Fi so that it can download the latest version(you can do it manually as well by going to mi.com). Afterwards the downloaded file will be stored in a folder named download_ROM, if you do it via phone. If you download it manually then you will have to save it in that folder of your phone. Go to the updater app in your phone and click on menu button(besides home button). Select the update package from the earlier mentioned folder and proceed as directed. Best of luck.
PS: It would be better to backup your phone before doing the update.

Most are biased just it is from china, and blatantly bashing out the phone features before even clearing the doubt. Recently one such post is MI3 is fake because in benchmark it is showing the device model to be MI3W, and flipkart selling fake because benchmark is less. Few ask why it is so, most comes in to conclusion before clearing the doubts. I think that is what the above poster wants to clarify.
