Display 9/10
Almost perfect. Color reproduction is top notch. It could use a bit more brightness, though - I find myself setting the brightness to maximum, even in an indoor setting. It's not really lacking indoors, but it could, outdoors, depending on personal preference.
Performance 10/10
Snapdragon 801 + Adreno 330. 'nuff said.
Camera 8/10
Low light performance is average. Low-light images are a bit grainy and have a little noise. Colors are a bit undersaturated. With proper lighting, the images can turn out very good, though. Minus a point for its subpar HDR mode. Plus a point for the speed with which it takes pictures.
Build Quality 9/10
Built very well, and feels well built when held. Quality is top notch. Posterior surface is great to the touch, but is a bit too smooth. A grippy case might be needed to prevent potential slips. Minus a point for the loose volume rocker and power buttons.
Aesthetics 10/10
Although this is subjective, it looks perfect. The speaker grille at the bottom edge is a nice touch. The glass is well tapered, but with a nice, hard edge for tactile reference.
Audio quality 7/10
Not enough power to sufficiently power decent headphones/earphones on its own. Responds well to an external amp, though. Has an annoying bit of distortion on low frequencies, though. Light tracks which focus on vocals sound very good. Instrument-heavy and bass-heavy tracks sound distorted in parts.
Speaker output 9/10
Sound output is crisp, clear, and sufficiently loud. Still could use a bit more volume.
OS 9/10
Plus points for having Kitkat 4.4.2. Minus a point for not having 4.4.3, at least.
UI 10/10
The MIUI is exceptional. Has a ton of additional features, tweaks, and options compared to stock android, but without the bloat and slowdown experienced on other UIs, like Samsung's LagWiz. Seamlessness is almost perfect. Although some improvements can still be made in the smoothness of certain transitions and functions, I still give it a perfect 10, since, relative to other brands' UIs, it is top notch in visuals, performance, and customizability.
Phone/Calls 10/10
Voice quality input and output is perfectly clear. Volume is sufficient, and there is a satisfying amount of noise cancellation.
Messaging 9/10
The stock messaging app is highly functional and pleasing to use. Minus a point for a tiny bit of lag when navigating between different message threads. Not very noticeable, but it can bug me sometimes.
Battery life 9/10
More than a few hours of continuous heavy use, and more than a whole day of regular use. Minus a point since its charging could be a bit faster. The bundled charger outputs 1000mah, only. 2A or 4A charging would have been much appreciated. I have a bunch of 2A chargers, but I wouldn't consider using them for safety reasons. I assume the battery is best paired with 1A charging, only, since that is the stock charger's output.
Value 10/10
Value is unmatched in its price range. Performance-to-price ratio is excellent.

Wish it was dual sim device, then I would buy this one the first day!
Now I have to make a big compromise on performance and elegance by going for a Zenfone 5.

I was totally impressed by this phone and I got mine last July 7... now I dont want it anymore because I restart my phone it was suddenly stuck on the Mi Logo boot screen and only stays there. I already reset it many times and also went trough recovery menu but its still stock. My expectation was great but now it went down to disappointment. I am totally going to have this refunded tomorrow and will never get another Xiaomi smartphone ever again. Once is enough for me. Its been great though but it sucks now.

Hey guys anybody has the phone can comment on the after sales support ?
Are there any service centers actively functioning at the moment ? The very reason why i backed away from Moto G was because of lack of information regarding the same and then this amazing phone gets launched
I really don't want to be stuck with phone without a repair center in sight. Any information would be awesome.

triple-a, 08 Jul 2014Which one will be better? Gionee Elife E7 or Xioami Mi3??well....elife e7 32gb version is obviously better as it is gifted wid 3gb ram... even in 16gb version e7 seems winning since the camera quality is better in e7 and the mi has a 2mp front camera, but e7 has 8mp i guess...
none of the two companies hve a good repu regarding their after sales services in india... i think Gionee has an upper hand, and i guess at least has some service centres...but i m not sure if xiomi has any
so..if u compare them both..Gionee Elife e7 wins
BUT ....wen the question b4 one is money..Mi3 takes the cake...as the price difference between the two is huge... abt Rs.10,000.... U can actually afford to buy another fone with that... So..its upto U...
if its features n not money that matters..Go for Gionee E7..( remember u can always hve fones like LG NEXUS 5 ...xperia front end models by adding some extra bucks)
but if u think of getting the value of ur money but negotiating the risk of any flaw in the product..i mean neglecting the risk on after sales services... Mi3 is a win win... i dont see any other product in the market that features anywhre near Mi3 "at this price"

Best phone in this price range! In fact, it is a steal in that low price compared to the popular ones.
There maybe bug or glitches in it but a simple system update that the MI website give can fix it.
It does not look cheap, in fact most say it has premium feel especially the back casing as compared to the S5.
High end games plays great, apps run smoothly and the battery life is superb. Got me through 1 1/2 days on light usage or 12-16 hours on heavy usage. Camera and video is decent.
With all that considered this is a great phone and for the same specs and features you would think and wonder that the popular brands are ripping you off for their ridiculous prices when the MI3 can deliver the same output for half or 1/3 of it...
