I am going to replace it with new screen in the mi service center in Bangalore, India.
It is costing around 6100rs which is Approximately 100$

..with the proximity sensor always stuck at near status...am using mi3w version and am on the latest official update...could this be a hardware or software error? How w'd they charge if they have to rplace the proximity sensor..?

AnonD-341858, 15 Dec 2014You have damaged the sim reader (I guess by using a sim ada... morego to service center they will replace it without any penny. my sim card reader also got damaged and they replaced it within 1 week (new motherboard)

AnonD-343429, 20 Dec 2014very big disadvantage is "no video call" in this ... moreYou can do video chat using the phone through Skype and viber. all u need to do is allow Skype to access the camera app as it is disabled by default. Once u change the setting Video chat is possible. I meet my parents daily through skype using Xiaomi MI3.

very big disadvantage is "no video call" in this phone and if do via viber or skype it is not clear and getting disconnect.
you receive message " android stoped this application" in everywhere. do not buy this phone.. cheating mobile lovers

Ishraj, 19 Dec 2014you sure ???? its the the 3rd largest brand if go as per nu... moreAnd the brand still isn't very popular, especially in developed countries. Its a lot easier to become the worlds #3 manufacturer when your home market is also the worlds most populated (China). Outside of China you will see dozens and dozens and dozens (hundreds even) of other phones before you even see one Xiaomi, if ever.

Xiaomi just became #3 so you have to think of all the past quarters and years they weren't #3. Why do people think just because they make #3 for last quarter it means Xiaomi phones everywhere? The #3，#4, and #5 spots are separated by less than a million units so they could just as easily become #4 or #5 next quarter but they will have to quadruple sales to get to #2 so that's not going to happen any time soon.
