Well well well. I think I will be the only person in India who got this phone. Twice. Had to exchange it once because of the battery drain issue. The phone went dead, just like that and I had to charge my phone for 20mins just to see the red notification light on. Apparently there was a complete drain of battery. For no reason. The same has happened with my new mi3. Since I am use to it now I will see if it was only a one off thing or a recurring thing.
I proposed flipkart that they replace this mi phone with a phone of similar specs. Only because I was so pissed with marketing strategy and lack quality of the device. I wanted nexus 5 or moto x in exchange for my mi phone. These phones will face a price drop as their successor are going to hit the marketing anytime now. Hence it made perfect sense to me to suggest this a billion dollar company. I failed in my attempt. Moving on.
The manufacturers claim that the phone gives a 21 hour 3G. But that being said I think that it's the stand by time on 3g if that makes sense. I am still not very happy with the battery performance with the replacement. I shall test it for a week more. The endurance tests on gsm arena makes more sense.
This phone is simply amazing. The phone is slim,light and a powerhouse. But the thing is the UI forces apps to crash for no rhyme or reason. But I guess the MIUI6 update shall take care of it. That's the only negative of the UI and otherwise is extremely user intuitive. The makers have kept all the essentials. We won't need to install apps like cleaners,torch,file explores or anything of that sort.
Response of the screen is as good as the display of the phone. And I must tell you the display is beautiful.
Only if flipkart had more balls to tell Xiaomi to cut their selling BS. I wanted a black 64gb variant. Is that hard for a third world country to even get that? I wonder if refurbished goods and send to our country for a cut price? If they are selling a 18k phone (mrp) for 14k just imagine how much flipkart is paying for the deal. I am guessing a round figure of 10k is convenient enough. Ignoring this. Or if the quality of the product was not compromised on The phone pretty f - in awesome.
As far a servicing is concerned just hope you don't have to hit that place. But if you do then do the drill.
The camera is beautiful in day light as rightly said by others and it's not too bad in night either. Way better than moto x I must say.
The sound of mi3 in earphones is mmmmm yummy . None of that Samsung BS. It actually feels like it's more than a phone when you plug in your earphones. But don't forget selecting the apt mode for your earphones and equalizer settings.
As of now the battery drop is 2% after 9.5 minutes of talk time and 11 minutes of on screen run. The phone has been 1 hours 35 minutes on battery. Idk how to evaluate this performance. Only if there was a way to find out if the battery is healthy or not.
If you want to play safe to get the moto g2 straight up. But it's no mi phone that's for sure.

camera not working for a new mi3, when i tried to click it says, "unfortunately camera has stopped"
even when i tired to flip between rear to front same error.
FM radio also not working, it says FM not supported, why this feature is given when it is not supported.
Can anyone please help
