Camera focus is a big issue. Sound through speakers is not high enough. Sound feels tinny and disturbing. So many reasons not to buy.

this phone boots very slow and takes a very very long time...
also chrome browser is very slow on miui...
so internet browsing and slow boot lines are a huge disadvantage of xiaomi.

The Zuks camera should be better, also should the battery and the day to day performance. But, like I said Zuk is a bit ugly

..I have had the Xiaomi 5 for just a few days but I like it a lot. My biggest complaint is that is came with no documentation at all and web search for this only gives some vague ideas when/if this will be available. After some fiddling around however, I seem to have everything going. Recharge time is impressive compared to my old iPhone/Samsung Note phones.
Picture quality is very good, no need to carry my Canon anymore. And it is very fast!
BTW if you go to their website, I found no option for English...no support link either; went to their Singapore site... Among the hundreds of cases available locally, none would fit but I found one on EBay...

I think Xiaomi is in big trouble. Reports of overheating, battery drain/poor battery, this & that not working ....keep increasing day by day by early adopters. The air is so heavy right now.

as the mi5 has the speaker and the mike on the same side (at the bottom of the phn)
does it cause any problem while talking on the phone?
mi5 users pls respond :)
