1. cable : this is the usual main cause, if charge but take too long, try replace this one first
2. Charger adapter : dont use cheap adapter, usually adapter from the box last long enough. if not, replace with another adapter qualcomm fast charging support.
3. Charging port : it will get loose overtime but it will hold for years, you can easily replace if broken.

this phone is capable of charging up to 18w, with quick charge 3. its all about the charger, the bigger the Voltage and Amperage is the faster it charge the phone

have this phone for 14 months, yet, this beauty is preforming like a beast. the phone is exceptional in every aspect.

Bought 1 year ago still no dent no scratch and still fast. only lacking is ram, 3gb is not enough surprisingly, you can not multitask 3-4 apps at the same time, and it's ram management is so poor after MIUI9 update. but this update has fasten the device as it became very slow in MIUI8 updates. charge time reduced to 1hr before it was 1hr 30m. if u are using this phone, u must update to MIUI9 global/china stable. It's camera/selfies and display are unbelievable, u can watch 2-3 movies with full charge, play any heavy game. I will not sell it for next 2 years! i love it

I Xiaomi mi5 user, from last April. My phone is still ok but yesterday weekly updated 8.1.25. causes finger print security does not work and it's option has not available in my phone. I couldn't understood it what is problem. Please can help me anyone that how I can solve my problem.

I'd like to post my opinion on the phone. After 1 year and 2 months is still like the first day, had a few issues dying around 40% battery but that cleared when I deleted about 1000 pictures from memory. Still a great phone and definitely worth the money.

Mi 5 GPS spoilt after 1yr 3months usage. and its network signal is not as good as other phones which are using same network provider.

Please don't waste your money on this phone. I've been absolutely conned by it. It seemed great for two months but that was it. Sending it back for repair was a waste of more money. It is the worst phone I've ever even heard of. After 8 months and 73 emails they sent me back a broken phone. They are far away in China and there is no consumer protection.
Many of the favourable reviews are clearly written by their own staff.

Hi all, I bought mi 5 after reading many reviews, but experience has been really bad. So I am writing this hoping to help all.
I bought this phone in sept 2016, the phone has only 1 issue, it's goes completely blank and non responsive. It has happened around 7 times in an year. Each time I took to Xiaomi authorized centre, couple of times the record sheet said removed refit , found ok. They updated software once and said it will be ok, untill phone was in warranty they even changed motherboard.
Now my phone is out of warranty, and twice again it's gone blank, now again the service center is reporting motherboard issue. I am using a spare phone now. I have written to Xiaomi, but no response for 20 day.
Its really difficult when ur phone goes completely blank, and u r stuck without contacts and outside somewhere.

It was great for the first few months then the battery started eating up really fast and I only dropped it once but the back cover just flew off. Really flimsy phone. I'll probably give it a 4/10.
