But ... morewhy do you need 1440p on 5.1 inch IPS display? it will just put more strain on the GPU and lower performance in games.
1440p is a bit of an overkill for IPS display below 5.5 inches. Pixel density is more than sufficient.
on oled screens I can understand the need to have more pixels because of the matrix. so it really increases the image quality and the sharpness.

And the heating issue you mentioned? Excuse me, but you are talking of a phone that hasn't even been released. Check out the review of the Galaxy S7 Edge (where it's compared with the Mi5, among others) and you'll see that the SD820 doesn't overheat.

Hey, I'm not the one who demoed 4-axis OIS & claimed it "a technological breakthrough". I'm not the one comparing Mi5 with Iphone 6s or Samsung S7. I'm not the one who reviewed the real world performance of the phone vs advertised. So, don't call me hateful just because someone proved it wrong.
Do me a favor. Remind me who promised and demoed the 4-axis OIS during the launch ?

Been watching samples on YouTube and personally I don't have problem with the still photo cause it's quality is still way above average for its price. I don't expect the low light quality to compete with phone double it's price. But the video is some mixed feeling for me. Some look great and some look jittery as hell. I'm gona wait more. S7 is superb. But I hate the price tag.

Mi5 camera is only good on paper. I'm very disappointed by the result I've watched in youtube:

Another video comparison in youtube also shows the front facing camera in Mi5 is also not sensitive enough under the different light source direction outdoors, where sometimes it can result in very dark selfie.
The 4-axis stabilization is a joke too. Very disappointed.
I've been waiting for 6 months for Mi5, but now I'm not going to buy it.
I hope so much more for Mi5, but unfortunately it fails to fulfill even my minimum expectation.
Feel very disappointed now. I just have to look somewhere else.

Is there a reason for this? Because to my understanding all versions no matter what colour are all missing that software. On top of that, the white standard and pro editions are always in stock which tells me there is something bad about them.........
