Finally, Mi 5 will be released next month.
I was with Redmi 1S --> very good experience, nothing to complain
I am now with Redmi Note 2 and Mi4i ---> Both are excellent devices.

Now I want a FLAGSHIP from Xiaomi,
I wanted to buy a Mi 4 but now that the Mi 5 is confirmed to be launched soon, I think one month waiting is worthed time for the (could be) one of the best phone of 2016.

AnonD-484722, 05 Jan 2016Frankly I started to get fed up with all the waiting. Too ... moreGood news. At least finally a confirmation from co-founder Li Wan Qiang that it is currently in mass production & to be launch right after Chinese New Year in Feb 2016.
Quote: "Xiaomi has officially confirmed that its upcoming Mi 5 flagship smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820 SoC. The confirmation came in the form of a Weibo post from the company's co-founder and Senior VP Liwan Jiang.
In addition to confirming SD820 chipset, Jiang also revealed that the Mi 5 has entered mass production and the company is making sure that there's enough stock when the handset is released, which he said will happen after the Chinese Spring Festival next month."

Frankly I started to get fed up with all the waiting. Too much speculations, too much hope, too much delay, too much waiting, but it never comes to reality. I will just wait till the Chinese new year, and if it still doesn't show up, I won't hold my breath any longer & go on with other options. Creating a suspense is good for marketing, but creating too much of it is another story. No wonder people call it "the never-come" phone.
Lei Jun said they won't rush it because they put emphasis on user experience. That's the lamest excuse because they've got all the time they needed . There is no reason for anyone to keep waiting for something that is so uncertain unless you like to play russion roulette.

Nick1999, 01 Jan 2016People predict it will be around $400, which I think quite ... moreIf you are talking about Xiaomi Mi Note Pro 5.7" 4GB/64GB Snapdragon 810 then:
                                1. Its Specifications aren't that MUCH different.. (compare them and tell me what is the Biggest difference that you are talking about!)
                                2. Xiaomi Mi Note Pro 5.7" 4GB/64GB Snapdragon 810 's price not long ago was 650$ now its just 370$, think about why..
                                3. I think that Xiaomi Mi5 4GB/64GB will be not more that 420$ (assuming the hardware differences). If there is a 128GB version it might be more expensive.

Mi4's camera is times better than any Redmi model's camera.. Front facing camera also better on Mi4, pixel density, proximity sensor, video capturing, qualcomm vs mediatek (fast charge is qualcomm's trade mark so mediatek havent it!).. God damn it only look at the Basemark scores of both its 25% difference for Mi4... Quality versus price... Just don't write unripe, exposing yourself!

Redmi note 3 is less in price than mi4 with much better spec..

People predict it will be around $400, which I think quite impossible. Xiaomi Spore is currently selling Mi Note 5.7" 64GB at $400 already, and the spec is much lower than Mi5 except the screen size. Will Mi5 be over $500 at launch ?
