I have bought this phone quite a few times (two units when it came out last year and also just now I got the 128gb version) but then I was always left disappointed with it, initially due to software issues (now fixed) and most recently the camera (surprisingly).

Razin, 02 Jul 2017Heating like Hell! I'm owning Mi5 prime for almost a year. To be honest, on daily basis the phone is fine. No heating issue when web browsing nor other social media. But it will be very hot when gaming. Especially mobile legends. Which is not that highly graphic game. Adjust to low graphic n yet still over heat. Very uncomfortable to hold.

I'm using my Mi5 prime almost a year. Everything is great, luv the camera, the smoothness on daily apps. But..

Before update to Nougat, my phone became very very hot when gaming (mobile legends & clash royale). Make me feel uncomfortable when holding my phone while playing. Sometimes lagging due to over heat from the phone.

After updated to Nougat, the problem is still there. When playing games, still very very hot until very uncomfortable to hold the phone. Really hate this. I'm really a xiaomi fan especially Mi5 but this is so disappointing.

Thinking to buy new phone now. Goodbye xiaomi. :'(

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2017If anyone of you has the 64GB or 128GB version, can confirm... moreWell, I guess no problem to copy file larger than 4GB into it's internal memory, as I have copied a video file with 8GB in size without issue.
And yes, Xiaomi Redmi series phone's supported Micro SD card file format is only FAT32, and this hit the file size limit.

I am using the phone for one week now. Before telling anything, you should be warned that this phone is very slippery. Put it on the slightest sloping surface, and it will fall down to the ground.
It happened twice with me. The good news is that it can withstand the fall on ceramic without scuffs or indentations.
A cover is a must for this reason.
All around it is excellent performer, nearly as good as a galaxy s6 with half price.
Battery is OK, a full day except intense gaming or downloading or updating. You have a backup from the fast charging (full in 55 min).
In my unit, the major disappointment is the camera performance. Less than lenovo vibe shot. ( You can say average or 60℅ of galaxy s 6).

If anyone of you has the 64GB or 128GB version, can confirm for me if this phone's internal storage can store single video file that is larger than 4GB? I just found out this limitation on my Micro SD card where in FAT32, I cannot store file over 4GB. Advises are formatting to exFAT or NTFS, but neither of the format can be supported by my phone.

All electronic device has potential to be broken regardless of pricing.
However, I must praise Apple for much better after sales service.
Xiaomi on the other hand, is one of the worst on after sales services.
