You are talking on the low end Xiaomi's Redmi phone right?
Mi3, Mi4 and Mi5 never has any battery removable.
Don't take different model to speak with the same context.

I don't have a MI5 but I have MI 4S and it uses the same fingerprint feature and I don't have to open the screen or anything , just put ur finger and the phobe will wake up

Reviews said they have an issues about speed even it have 6gb ram but they prefer OP3 instead of th Mi5

Just a quick heads up!
#1 - The phones' screen is too vulnerable and get easily get scratched so make sure to get a screen protector.
#2 - The phone is too slippery because of the ceramic body.

Full story;
In just over a week, I managed to get over 10 scratches on the screen although I have been carefully using it i.e. no keys, coins or anything else in the same pocket as the phone. I am a careful user and I don't throw around my phone so getting 10 scratches is just too much for me too handle.
I have been using S4 without a screen protector for 3-4 years and I never had a single scratch so I thought I wouldn't need one. Turns out, I was wrong.
Anyways, get a protector and you should be fine. Everything else is perfect and I am so far very happy with the phone and its performance. Not a big fan of the ceramic body because the phone just slips anywhere I keep it eg. I keep the phone on the wallet, a few minutes later, it slips of the table and falls on the table. Feels exorcistic!

to be honest xiaomi has been disappointing this year!! the mi5 variant its selling in most country except china is the base variant with only 32bg storage and the price is high as the same price as the oneplus 3 ..and the redmi 3 still is not available in malaysia ,india and soo on even being annouce way back in january

Lots of basic problems.... bad reception. . No sim card... block out google...its better to stay away from this brand. Get lower version of best brand Samsung...forget better hardware of xiaomi .....think about xiaomi problems ..do research on xiaomi problems
