Hi, just to say go for MIUI 9, its easy to install, its blazing fast. Even its beta, i went for EU rom, its based on china rom, but no china software, has all languages and most important no bloatware. Weekly updates. I have Xiaomi Mi 5s for now.

    is mi 6 a great device now ? i know sd 835 but what about its ram managment is it fixd now ? with imui 9 ?any user who can help me out i am a performance lover so is it a good choice now or
    i go with honor 8 then ?
    mi 6 is good device with nice pricetag but its a little high for me in my country so donot wanna get the wrong device
    any noticeable cons wich users can tell?

      AnonD-699123, 10 Sep 2017Harwey, judging by your comment your might be from Croatia?... moreHi,mate,as I said I bought mine on Aliexpress.If you look for Mi6 just make sure you get one with Global firmware,and that's it.A lot of sellers offers that version for use outside of China.It comes with Google Play Store installed,Google icon(folder) with all you need from Google-Mail,Maps,Driver,Photos,Video Player..and Chrome on home screen,multi-languages,and very important-that Global Rom supports OTA updates so you can receive your updates properly via Wi-Fi.The price?Few sellers offer Mi6 with DHL shipping(23-26$) over their Eu warehouse so no taxes,custom fees..All together about 450$ or just over 370 Euro..that's it mate,go get one!:)cheers

I'm in your neighbourhood and thinking about getting the MI6. I've heard things against it such as not coming with google apps and needs to be rooted for this purpose, impossible to get spare parts and repare, etc. What do you say to this as someone who owns it already? P.S. I'm considering getting mine directly from China through a friend, so I don't know if there is a difference between Chinese and international edition when it comes to software?           It works for Croatia so I guess it's the same with Portugal or any EU state..

            I've got mine for three months now and all I can say it's brilliant!I was also considering 1+5 which is very good phone,and went for Mi6 just because of the looks!+5 is a premium phone but it looks cheap,and Mi6 is a beauty.Everything on my Mi6 works fantastic-Miui 8 runs supersmooth even I customized everything(launcher,themes,wallpapers,icon packs).Display is perfect for me,some might prefer amoled on +5.Camera is rather special,I think better than Oneplus.4G runs great(bands 3&7),battery ok for whole day.To me best thing about it is audio output-excellent!..when connected to stereo amp.And for 445$ paid-surely best buy in 2017,so far..no match for it..

              currently with miui 8 oneplus 5 opens apps and games faster but if you look at mi6 with miui 9 alpha vs op5 you see it easily beats oneplus 5 even in ALPHA release !!!!!!
              and it will become much better after stable release
              but....
              lack of band 20 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
              check if your country uses this band or not if yes then go for oneplus 5 because you might not able to access 4g without band 20 if used in your country

                    Redmi luched similar kind of smart phone with different prices and even have no great features of camera and glass protection but increase price with every new phone

                            Very glad this phone didn't get a high Endurance rating, since I really hate to think about buying a smartphone without an audio jack.

                                To be honest, the reason why i took the Oneplus 5 over the Mi6 was that the oneplus has a 3.5mm Jack, Stock based Android ROM, easy and faster availability in Europe, bigger screen, dash charge, amoled display and the most important thing, no LTE band 20 support.
                                I i bought the Xiaomi Mi6 it would cost me 620euros because of the import taxes to portugal can you imagine?
                                While the oneplus 5 cost me 499.99 euros with no tax whatsoever. pretty good deal.
                                It means, for 120 euros less i get a superior phone

                                  Bought a Mi6 last week after the Mi5 last year. Here is what I found
                                  a. Almost identical features as One Plus 5, at a much lower price (Price may vary as per region). The main difference being the screen size for which I prefer the Mi6 anytime as it is a one hand operation. For specifically bigger screen size, the One Plus 5 stands out taller.
                                  b. The camera is awesome. If it is for your regular use. However, we are still not comparing the iPhone 7 Plus camera which is beyond better. So, if you want the BEST camera around, do not read further and switch to iPhone. But if you are ok with a very good camera, stick around, the Mi6 does not disappoint.
                                  c. The removal of the 3.5 Jack is a drawback surely but it is because Xiaomi is way ahead of its time for now. I am very sure very soon all phones would follow suit in today's generation where everyone is consolidating for purpose of standardisation. As much as it is a drawback, to help the transition, Mi6 comes with an adaptor for your old earphones, headphones and other gadgets if you are not already on Bluetooth.
                                  d. Storage capacity is decent at 64GB. However, if you still prefer the old conventional way of storing data in the phone, buy the 128GB version or take backup frequently. However, one must understand adding RAM with storage doesn't make phones faster after a particular limit. We were using 100GB as hard disk space in laptops till a while back.
                                  e. RAM is more than sufficient at 6GB and does a wonderful job. In benchmarking, it is behind OnePlus 5 by few microns of seconds. However, it is not something visible to naked eye. The applications load fast. No complaints so far and it is not hanging.
                                  f. OS: Personal choices matter. However, I have loved the MIUI from beginning. Yes, if you ar e not in China and have bought a phone from there (In all probability as it is not available anywhere else for now), you need to flash it with Global ROM. Global ROM brings you the new Nougat Android with beautiful MIUI 9 themes. The split view feature lets you run two applications together on one screen. Dual apps work very smoothly along with second space which practically means having 2 phones in 1 with 2 completely different interfaces. Built in security and cleaner apps along with WPS lets you run practically all applications from the start. GPS works nicely. Mi5 had GPS issues which have been improvised greatly.
                                  g. Display and protection - The display for Mi6 is amazing with clarity in sunlight also. Doesn't drain the battery very fast if set on auto mode. Double touch to wake works fine. If you buy the annual maintenance contract, it costs around Rs. 700 for an year but it takes care of service as they offer free pick and drop even if you crack your glass. The glass edges are curved so it fits very nicely in the hand. The phone is splash proof so you need not worry on the sweat and showers in the rain, but surely a better waterproof IP6 protection would be more helpful. Perhaps we have to wait for the Mi7 for that.

                                  All in all - a 4.7 out of 5 for the Mi6. Hats off to another great flagship phone. Try it before passing any other judgement on this beast and remember to compare the cost as well. The cost to feature ratio is an absolute winner!

                                        Glad not ordered this phone. After google MIUI Advertisement, found that advertisement is baked in the OS. MI forum suggest turn off notification get a clean environment, if so, why not turn on flying mode get a silent environment? Huawei EMUI is better in this regard. It can configure notification of each app. My next phone still going to Huawei, probably the P10+, even for the price can buy Sam S8.
