Mr Magma, 21 Feb 2019Yeah, but mi 9 has bigger screen and body than the s10 and ... more4100 mah battery on S10+ is there to compensate for a much higher resolution (1440p). It'll all go down on which of these phones will conserve their respective batteries better.

Xiaomi smartphone will give them the impression of cheap is less.
But by saying this, it just seems like the Apple way where they force their user to experience what they want them to experience and shut down all the negative review to cover the negativity, only allow praising.
I only can think brand like Xiaomi are the one who still trying to keep the price down with newer and better tech, but very less people are appreciating their effort.

Donnie, 21 Feb 2019but Samsung S10+ has 4100mAh battery. They know the market ... moreAre you stupid, choose most expensive Samsung phone and Xiaomi Mi9 which is almost 3 times cheaper..... "They know market better", you know nothing. Complaining for Battery, 3.5mm jack, Ip rating and Fm radio.... Check the price first, Apple battery is smaller, it doesn't have 3.5mm, they took almost 3 years to bring Ip rating, and 4 for Wireless charging, and its more expensive.... For what are you complaining

The battery's its weakest point, the rest of specs are fine.

It's not that hard to choose really, you can go budget with shortcomings or go expensive that almost checks your boxes. The saying "you can't please everybody" is generally true when it comes to smartphones.

Part 2, moral of the story, if you want save money, then you have to bear with the shortcoming. At least their price are cheap, unlike the overrated overpriced Apple iPhone, which has maintain the non-expandable memory for more than 10 years, and also start the trend to remove 3.5mm jack.
Option for solving these shortcoming by force is investing a new wireless headphone, or get a wireless Bluetooth audio receiver that turn every wired headphone to work by wireless.
For non-expandable memory, buy a cheap flash drive, then buy a type C port OTG for backup photo from the smartphone if memory is full. High educated user of course willing to pay premium go for the online cloud service that offer cloud storage, but with pricing to pay for service. Google Photo offer unlimited picture upload, but the problem is their free unlimited service compress your photo. Some online review do say the compression take almost no different in quality for smartphone captured JPG photo, but compromise big if picture are captured in RAW format.
Yes, you read that, pros and cons out there. It never become problem when you can spend more for something like Samsung S10, but when you can't spend more, but keep complaining at a product that is almost half price compared to the most premium one currently available, then you are plain wrong and simply overexpecting.

Again, reading all those numb comments.
As always, a typical Android smartphone won't serve every category of user.
This is, the budget flagship that undercut pricing to fit in as many flagship features as it can, that still has flaws, obvious flaws that is due to cost cutting.
So, now AMOLED screen has become standard, wireless charging also is on board, also got the under screen fingerprint scanner. NFC is present. The only "old" tech missing are no 3.5mm headphone jack, but adapter included, and no micro SD slot, but with choice of 128GB internal storage. Waterproofing also not something necessary at this price, don't think you would use your premium phone at harsh environment, save for radio function.
If you really compare to big boy, this is a much more cheaper option than a said Oneplus 7 at some region, which almost hold the pricing near to Samsung Galaxy S10 for some region, but not S10 Plus. Complain of no 3.5mm jack? Go complain to the big boy Apple iPhone that stary the trend. Complain no micro SD slot? Apple iPhone started the trend too.
As always, you can always opt for last year tech, which pricing has dropped. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus actually come down to a price very close to phone like Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and Xiaomi Mi8, go get this if you are not the trend chaser.
If you are not, then just spend whatever that is worth for you. This definitely not a Oneplus 7, not a Mate 20/Mate 20 Pro, not even is Samsung S10, so get your fact right before you expecting too much from a budget flagship smartphone.

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2019Xiaomi flagship device Mi series always powered by battery ... moreRedmi Note 7 is powered by Snapdragon 660 (14 nm) and has a max. endurance rating of 108 hrs (check the review here or even the specs page)
Mi 9 is powered by Snapdragon 855 (7 nm) and has a max. endurance rating of 91 hrs (given the Snap 855 is much more powerful than the Snap 660) (check the review here or even the specs page)
and also remember that the Mi 9 is thinner, narrower and shorter than the Redmi Note 7, and if you think that these dimensions differences are very small, they matter.
