The design team was targeting Huawei P20Pro for Mi9's camera setup. They are happy with the end-result and believe in its match-up against P20Pro. Based on dxomark test-result, the design team fully deliver what they promise.

I applaud Xiaomi for bypassing the IP rating so that more effort and resources can be placed where it really matters. Xiaomi Mi9 is specifically designed for those buyers who take good care of their smartphones. Please keep this important tradition which makes Xiaomi a great company it already is and an even greater company in years ahead.

For those of you who are looking for a flagship-worthy smartphone with a compact body, Honor 11 will be a good option. You can check out Honor 10 and its review to get some general idea. Due to this year's bezel-less full screen design, its size should be around 145mm x70mm x8mm or smaller. The screen size should be about 6" or slightly smaller.
