It seems Xiaomi also decided to remove audio jack from all the new smartphones. Hence.. have to move to another brand.

the other concern I had is the MIUI interface, it looks terrible, and no notification icons etc. Maybe i could get used to it.

when qualcomm fabricates a batch of chips, some are not capable of running full speed on all cores. rather than throw away units, they disable cores or limit speeds.
the 712 is 2018's flagship 845 downclocked from 2.8ghz to 2.3ghz.

EK, 09 Apr 2019I really want a compact phone with an amoled screen that do... moreyou realize the snapdragon 712 are leftover 845s downclocked from 2.8ghz to 2.3ghz right? the 855 is more power efficient than the 845 because the shrank the die size but they're the same chip. The 712 is 8 core unlike the 710.

It's more expensive than the pocophone F1. Poor 3000mah battery and a far worse cpu. Not worth the money. I'll pass.

I really want a compact phone with an amoled screen that doesnt cost a fortune.
Problem with this phone is the average Snapdragon 712 processor, shame they didnt put something slightly better in it.

Rohan, 08 Apr 2019that's true MIUI is worseIf you have set region to India i understand that, because of ads, even in settings there is follow as ads, but for other regions, MIUI (10) is really fast, but point is, there is not ads at all. Yes, sure, you need to turn off recomandation in Security, cleaner, music, downloads, file manager, but thats you can do for like 30 sec, and thats it.. Try to change region from India to any other (Germany for example).. also those bloatware apps like Amazon, Flipkart will be gone (you can always install them via Play Store). Good luck :D

Good soc, good screen, good cameras, good battery life (for only 3070mAh), and best of all it is compact by today standards, and asking price is really real. For some that under screen fingerprint sensor is also good stuff and trendy.. last but not least, it is available in Global version.

Mi 9 SE or Mi 8? They're about at the same price here.
I love Mi 9 SE compact size & notch instead of Mi 8.
Also Mi 9 SE have better battery life though smaller capacity.

I have a Huawei P20 right now and I'm really interested on this 9 SE. I wonder if this phone is a worthy upgrade for my P20. I wonder if this phone even considered to be an upgrade! On paper the only better specs are the screen and wide angle camera. Also the slightly smaller and lighter body, which I always appreciate from a phone.
Better wait for the review, I guess.

I hope Xiaomi will "wake up" and develop next MIUI to make use of AMOLED's capabilities. OK, there's no separate notification LED, but who cares? There are 1080 x 2340 pixels that can be given such a function.
