Protectors I mean generally not regarding heating - If I could skip or at least reduce case, screen protectors and possibly rely on native protection this time (Gorilla glass)... Phone's looking good and also no need to make it heavier. Common usage.

D., 31 Jul 2019BTW guys, using any protectors on this phone?I did removed the protective case, also while gaming. You can sure feel it being hotter than expected if ambient temps are higher that 25°C. Game on 20°C or lower I would say.

It gets warmer to the touch but no overheating this time. Happy days.
Seems to have 10% battery drain / day on idle just like my old 4X has.

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2019I got the Mi 9T carbon black version, 6/128gb set up. I'm u... moreI have no doubts it's a good phone and actually to me pretty optimal 'cause practically has all I want and doesn't have useless things (except maybe IR blaster missing but no need for SD855 and card slot not so necessary). Looks is okay too (I'd probably choose carbon black too :) ). I'd get it from China 'cause of better price so that way I need to make sure first even more if it's okay.
Now that heating up: I've seen similar post not only here so it's likely real (LOL not other brand's troll) and someone experienced it. I think either it's software issue (some apps consume CPU power or so) that way it can be solved and those guys need to clean their device good OR some phones are just faulty which would be worse 'cause if that's the case it's a lottery (if person buys good or faulty device). Can't tell which is true, only if someone had that problem before found out reason and wrote about it here would help.
So thanks for post, I'll take my time to think and also I'm checking few other new phones (like Honor 9X) or maybe local price of Mi 9T will be better and I'll just buy it here with usable warranty.

I'm using the phone quite awhile and never experienced overheating. Battery life is superb. Chipset is pretty fast, one of the coolest phone I've used so far. I don't know why they're complaining about the phone heats up. Maybe those people actually never used the phone at all and just making fun of those who are interested on buying this phone.
Tbh, it's a good phone. Overall experience was awesome. I'm satisfied with this device.

So overheating is either just software problem of some users or some units are faulty. Who knows...

It seems there's a cooker included instead 'cause too many people experience overheating. Or is this usual for Xiaomi device? But it should NOT overheat at least if there's not very good reason especially when SD730 inside, summer or not. What proves it is that some people say no overheating. So it seems not worth a risk even though otherwise specs fill my needs pretty well.

I own a mi 9t carbon black 6/128GB version Global ROM and based on my observation, I played Mobile Legends and other mobile games like PUBG and there is no heating issue. Im afraid that you guys who experienced it needs to master reset the phone. trust me this device is promising
its worth for its price and performance.
