MichaelD, 14 Aug 2019WTF? Are you trying to be funny or something because you're... moreI think you and others like you who think they are better and smarter than anything should do simple math and educate yourselfs for christ sakes beforre writing here. Nobody here is talking about EU Warranty, which is mandatory for any seller. Who mentioned it? Nobody! I am a seller of these things so I know my sh*t! Offering 2 years warranty is very expensive. We have to get it as additional costs from services around Europe. Buy from China guys if you want, just forget you have any warranty. You have ZERO warranty! Unless you want to send your devices back to China, India or wherever you buy it, pay at least 50 Eur/USD for the shipping and then wait 2-3 months when you get your phone back and the question is if you get your phone back repaired at all or not. The second thing is taxes and duties, you will pay them anyway when you import any phone from Aliexpress, China, India. Third thing it is not only about the bands, there are also other differences. Non Global versions do not come with CE certification. Those are stopped by the customs and sent back or destroyed. I know a lot more about all this and believe me, it is not so black and white and simple guys as you think. When you buy one piece it could get under the radar, but for sellers like me getting in hundreds of devices in one order is a hell procedure and expenses rise pretty much. Warranty is something that can pay out. Buy chinese crap and don´t bother crying your eyes here for a high price. Nobody will listen to you and smart people will buy it anyway, speculators will buy from China with no warranty. You have choices, do as you think is best.

MichaelD, 13 Aug 2019Well you just confirmed what I wrote, Xiaomi takes higher p... moreYou got that wrong bro. India is much poorer than like Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, Romania, etc, etc. Go and have a look, then write nonsense. By the way there are some very good eshops in Europe where you can buy Xiaomi phones pretty cheap. You just have to google a bit more.

[deleted post]WTF? Are you trying to be funny or something because you're not? Did you ever heard of constructive conversation? I'm just trying to help people in a way that if it's true that Mi 9T Pro is almost 500EUR for 6/128GB version then they can buy a better phone for that money. I know I won't buy this phone if this price is true even if I planned it but I expected it to be priced like in India(350EUR) and I have right to tell that. I just need a little time to see if price of Mi 9T Pro is true and if it is I'll decide between K20 Pro for 270EUR from China or I'll buy OnePlus 7 or Asus Zenfone 6 in my country for 470EUR. If you have something against it just pass my comments please.

MichaelD, 13 Aug 2019C'mon guys, you all write it's cheapest SD855 device but it... moreLook, I wrote similar posts like you about price some time ago but now I know more so I expected this. Doesn't mean I like the price. If you asked me if I'd pay that much for this, the answer would be 'no way'. Although still not impossible to solve it, for me getting little complicated so I'll probably go simple way and just buy something else. Can't mess forever. Unless I buy that K20 Pro which is pretty cheap.

Anyone here using it for gaming watch videos etc? How hot is it? Just slight warm or hot? I remember reading 9T (not pro) significantly heats up. I am really considering this phone to get. It's either this or I spent more and get oneplus 7(not pro). Reason I am not really comfortable getting not pro oneplus 7 is it's not available here, only the pro is available. I hate to do overseas rma if there is an issue.

D., 13 Aug 2019You're right it differs from west to east in EU not to ment... moreC'mon guys, you all write it's cheapest SD855 device but it's not true. Xiaomi Mi 9 also have SD855 and it's cheaper than 430 and 480EUR and for that amount of money you can also buy much more quality ASUS Zenfone 6 or OnePlus 7. Xiaomi just f*cked up everything with this Mi 9T Pro pricing and just admit it for God's sake.

MichaelD, 13 Aug 2019Well you just confirmed what I wrote, Xiaomi takes higher p... moreYou're right it differs from west to east in EU not to mention out of EU. But you just cannot expect X. will launch it with 2 pricing options in this region. (Or if you can achieve by writing here they will, I'll thank you. :) ) Pro is still the cheapest SD855 device.
I think it's better to focus on realistic possibilities. One of them was mentioned below (K20P for some).

Alan, 13 Aug 2019the simple matter is it costs more to use Euro/NA LTE bands... moreSounds likely. If it doesn't make most of price, must be a part of it at least. Of course it cost them something to sell abroad, make some profit is O.K. and so on. I wonder how many more comments like "it should cost same price as in China" will be here yet LOL. It can't be. But yeah it is kinda expensive for everybody.

Joe, 13 Aug 2019The K20 pro can be bought brand new black color on ali expr... moreWell this applies to those who don't need Mi 9T Pro's bands necessary. Or would you buy having no bands support at all? (me not) I think I'd have some bands and some not. Worth consider, for me this (or similar) way or buy just non-Pro. About 480EUR for 128GB means NO.

The K20 pro can be bought brand new black color on ali express right now for 300 USD. The Mi 9T pro is way too expensive. Here is my recommendation, buy the K20 pro WITH china rom NOT the unofficial fake "global" rom, flash the OFFICIAL global rom when it releases (probably in a month or less). Enjoy your savings.

Thats why international versions are always more expensive than chinese, Look at the BAND support. Everyone here is going on about some conspiracy and its very simple.

D., 12 Aug 2019I agree it's not just taxes like some usually say. It's als... moreWell you just confirmed what I wrote, Xiaomi takes higher profit from european countries and that's not fair because it's not true that all european countries are richer than asian countries. In fact most people in those rich european countries don't buy Xiaomi phones and they buy some higher quality brands. People in poorer european countries buy Xiaomi and they have to pay it 80EUR more than people in India(for example) and India is in no way poorer than like Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, Romania, etc, etc.

I agree it's not just taxes like some usually say. It's also profit. Why are you surprised it's natural. You pay different price for the same thing in different part of world depending on income. It's called economy. Goods exported is always more expensive than in home country. People in U.S. or Europe are much more wealthy than Asian they can afford it. So why still somebody complains it's stupid.
About that price,
remember it's for 64GB and no SD support, so... LOL. But those who are smart will pay less.

MichaelD, 12 Aug 2019Most european countries have 0% or 5% customs duty on smart... moreXiaomi's profit is still lower than all of the competition, even in Europe. I'm sure it's more expensive for Xiaomi to sell products in Europe too.
Also, when comparing prices: The cheapest Mi 9 is 370$ on Aliexpress. In Norway, which has 25% taxes on regular products, the phone costs 490$. That's about 28$ higher than the 25% increase you'd expect, and I'm sure our local stores want a slant too.

Dumbo, 12 Aug 2019It's because of import taxes, that was always the problem wi... moreMost european countries have 0% or 5% customs duty on smartphones and they only charge VAT which is about 20%(depends on country). K20 Pro price is 270EUR on aliexpress and I bet retailers can get it on wholesales for about 240EUR so there is 190EUR difference to 430EUR. If european retailers take 30EUR profit there is still 160EUR difference which is more than what are import taxes in european countries.
So to conclude, Xiaomi wants to take more money from european customers which is not fair.
