EIS is post video editing apps, is not a function inside the camera like OIS, most phone at this price range including more expensive Samsung J7 pro doesn't have OIS.

Anonymous, 20 Oct 2017I have tried every possible way that's possible, The thing ... moreI prefer the one come pre installed in the phone, is more simple & direct, though i installed both, so this is good, at least customer like me have a choice between 2 type of contacts apps.
i hate phone which forced customer with only 1 choice & unable to delete some useless bloatware.

Guys, Don't compare Nokia Updates with Xiaomi Updates,
Nokia has just 4 phones, so releasing updates won't be tough.
But Xiaomi has promised updates to over a 100 different models, they have to tailor the same update to suit each model. Plus providing update is not easy as we think. Before public release, they will test the update on a device, to see how it works, how it behaves, It is not that simple as we think. A single miscalculation in updates could brick the phones and also at the same time they work on the MIUI too.
So, Don't judge Xiaomi as slow in terms of updates. Nokia has just 4 phones to update,But Xiaomi has more. The process is very complicated and unpredictable.

But mysteriously they're not getting updates, they may be updated in Oreo. I think.

Tap the edit function (aka the one with few line that looks like those amplifier adjust)
Tap stabalize
Then save the stabalized version.
You can also do the post video stabalizing edit in Google Photo Apps.

MiA1 is pure Android except the camera UI (as Google has no camera UI for dual camera just yet).
There are 2 contact apps, for me i prefer the more simple one which is the light blue version, some people might like the newer dark blue version, that's the beauty of Pure Android, you get to choose what you want in your phone, rather than those crap MiUi, Touch Wizz, Sense UI, which forced you to use whatever there give.

Unlike OIS which is actually a stabalizer while taking the video, EIS is more of a post video stabalizing software.

Click on the three dots (on the top right side) and select "Show internal storage". After that open the menu under storage and select your phone's internal storage.

After 3 weeks of usage, I came up with 2 big problems with this phone:
1. The camera lacks stabilization, which is still missing after the latest October update. Both cameras perform badly in dim environments, even in the lavatory or my own bedroom, the framerates are poor with videos and often come with blurry images. Be aware if you take a lot of photos at night or indoors.
2. The microphone has horrible audio quality. Even when I place it 5cm to my mouth, the audio is still not clear due to poor noise cancelling system. Audio lacks clearness and feels cheap too, but most likely to be able to get solved with software updates. Just do it, Xiaomi.

Let me make it clear to everyone, This phone has confirmed upgrades till September 5, 2019 and also to be extended as it is Android One and Regardless of size and name each and every Mi A1 device will get the same updates without any deviation.
Also everyone update the in-built apps too. Except the below 5 apps(Download another Contacts App by Google) All will receive updates on Mi A1.

2.Settings
3.Feedback
4.Downloads
5.Phone
Note : The in-built Contact App has no updates, but you can download Contacts App by Google from Play Store which will be regularly updated.
