This phone is a crap..I have purchased this phone 25 days ago and the phone is dead now..I went to mi service center.They said the phone has got liquid damage when i have not used the phone even in kitchen.They are asking me 9 thousand for repair..seriously ..wastage of money.[Please don't buy this phone..Chinese product are worthless..Mi service center employee are also not good.They scammed my money..

If you don't squash the phone against your ear and face, the screen just does not turn off mid call.

this phone still has the proximity sensor issue, no update managed to solve the issue (I have april update but still no luck) very big shame for xiaomi, they made a faulty phone and started to sell without testing it properly.

Crappy phone..lacks many functions that make Xiaomi phones unique like dual space, shortcuts, gestures etc..there's a bug in Google play services that drains your battery all the way down to 0%, power button is stiff and it feel like the kind that'd break after couple of uses, dual camera is not big deal the picture still look crappy and have much pixel noise, no 4G on both sims, and finally LED only have one light which is white..now that may seem "unimportant" but it's very important to me..my old Lenovo phone used different colors for missed calls, notifications and messages I wish MI A1 was the same

Awesome phone so far.
Good metal build quality, android one is fast, 64gb is plenty of storage and 4gb of RAM is enough, camera is pretty good in daylight, low light pictures not so much. Still, for this price I don't think you can find something substantially better...

I see many people talk about phone even probably don't even have one, because everything is not true or single exceptions. Just over and over same things repeated by the same people. People except phone in range 200$ things that have phone for 400$-500$, LOL. Camera is perfect in MIA1 if you install GCAM, Stock is not so great, but still you have decent features, 4k video and slow motion. Photos quality is great if you tweak some things. Battery, well i can handle 2 days while gaming, internet browsing with no chanring, even 4 if phone is not used. So yeah. It's perfect budget phone for me and i'm loving it.

Stop arguing for meaningless slow mo camera issues. The mia1 doesn't have a decent camera anyway and it is not it's selling point, Noone buys it for that and it can't be a deal breaker.
Where ppl should focus is it's real issues, serious issues that affect every user, like the faulty ports, both the 3.5 jack and the USB 3 have serious issues, most of the accessories used have a tendency to jump, resulting at not charging your phone, copying your data and in most cases cannot use most of the wired headsets. This is a global issue affecting everyone at day to day use. This could be a deal breaker if it was known and affects 5/5 of the mia1s i ve seen.
And subject number two should have been if Google was right to chop it's battery from 4000 to 3000mah
