Vickykhan, 30 Jul 2018Thanks man u have made my life. Can u explani this in easy w... moreThe brief explanation is that today's and most of yesterday's SOC's are powerful enough to run 90%+ of the app that are out there.
If you are experiencing significant lag, then it's most likely a software/firmware issue.

Or in other words...

The best&latest SD will run like crap if the firmware is full of bugs.
A mid-range,an 2-3 old flagship and even a recent low-end will run smoothly if the firmware is well done.

mdtrpa, 30 Jul 2018A1 got Oreo update sooner because it's Android One, the bas... moreYou're joking, right?
The phone industry is preparing for Android P and Xiaomi needs time(and it's not certain that they will update, maybe November, maybe not) to customize Oreo.

BTW.The current Mi5s & Mi5s Plus Nougat firmware isn't working as it should.
Xiaomi updates are a lottery... sometimes they fix things, sometimes they completely mess up the phone and sometimes they do both (fix older minor bugs but completely mess up the phone).

Vickykhan, 30 Jul 2018Why should i buy mi max 3 for gaming when it has a snapdrag... moreSDM 636 & 660 are almost same, both have...

        DDR4 RAM
        4x Kryo 260 Gold – Cortex-A73 derivative +
        4x Kryo 260 Silver – Cortex-A53 derivative
There is a difference in CPU clock speeds and GPU.

I agree that 660 is more powerful than 636, but only marginal. In turn, 636 is more efficient and runs the device cooler than 660, especially while gaming. We cannot under estimate 636 which is capable of playing any game you install.

With Mi Max 3, you can play games without heating thanks to 636. Double duration because of larger battery and efficient chipset. 19% larger screen is great for visuals. Lesser PPI is good for touch responsiveness.

The Mi5S & Mi5S Plus users are still hoping for Android 8 while the current stable Android 7 firmware is a mess.
The worst part is that Xiaomi isn't very clear on the matter "maybe October, probably November".

Before thinking of buying a Xiaomi phone everyone should know how Xiaomi is handling it's customers. Don't expect useful updates!

Now in the 8.1 update, they lowered the headphone volume significantly, it sounds much worse than my HTC Desire Eye that I had. Low volume and serious distortion, extremely disappointing.

The phone are far from smooth, in fact it has more apps crash than MiUi & Grace UX or even EMUI.

As i owner i challenge you to denied the LED notification light still blink when there is incoming message like it used to be before the Oreo 8 1 2nd update, i also challenge you to denied there is many apps crash.

I got the Android 8.1 update on my Mi A1 a week ago, and it is smoother than ever. No bugs, no problems. I am getting the Mi A2, though, since it is more powerful and (probably) does not have the screen burn-in problem like the Mi A1 had.
