In most cases it happens when ur sim keeps on switching between 3g and 4g to get optimum signals. But in the process sim loses signal for a negligibly short instance. Try to set signals to 3g only. Hope it will resolve problem in case 4g signals are poor in your area.

I have a Mi A3 and it’s pretty good, it’s just that the standby battery life is a bit short for me.

'Cause you can replace a biggeer battery & you will have to do after three or four years. For performance, Mi A3 is the champ. But if YouTube streaming is your primary concern, buy M30s.

But still, we shouldn't have to adjust our ways and pay so much attention to such a basic activity that is talking on the phone.
Xiaomi should definitely address the issue appropriately.

But when i moved the phone below, so the top of the phone is in my skin face side just below the hear i do not have any issue. Try that and report back. You hear even better that way because the sound comes from the top of the phone.

I ordered the phone b4 I came to read user opinions so my heart sank a little by some of the comments. I've used the phone for three weeks now and the only problem I have with it is the fingerprint unlock which is painfully too slow for my liking. Initial I was trying so hard to see the pixels and I did but after a while I don't notice it again because I was not looking and I have to admit the screen is beautiful and doesn't hurt the eyes at all, I don't even use the comfort view at night. There is notification led light on mine and the proximity sensor works as expected, maybe I'm one of the lucky few. Multi-tasking is on point too. Overall the phone is fast and battery performance is great too. I'm a somewhat heavy user and the battery is able to take me through the day successfully. Both gcom and stock camera app does well at different scenes/scenarios so I use both depending on the situation. I'm just loving this phone day by day. I hope they hold on and give us android 11 update instead, that will be better in my opinion though.

In particular, the proximity sensor does not correctly turn off the screen, i.e. it doesn't cover the correct distance/width range from your head, which leads to frequent accidental touches on the screen, further leading to muting or disconnecting the call, or you accidentally slide down the notification shade, or dial an additional number, things like that.

The only thing is that Mi a3 has 720p screen vs 1080p of the redmi note 8 but this could be on the side of the mi a3 because means better gameing performace for the Mi A3 and of course Mi a3 has amoled could lead to even better battery performance.

To be honest, I'm not too confident that Xiaomi are going to fix it.
