Xiaomi Mi Box now available in the US for $69

Prasad, 03 October 2016

As was announced earlier this year after Google I/O 2016, Xiaomi has launched the Mi Box in the US market in collaboration with Google. Starting today, the device is on sale for $69 from its Mi.com website and will soon be available in Walmart and on Walmart.com website.

For $69, you get a media player that runs Android TV OS with 4K 60fps playback and HDR-10 support is coming with Nougat update. It runs an unspecified (although we suspect it's the Amlogic S905) SoC with quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz and Mali-450 GPU, with 2GB RAM, and 8GB storage with microSD. It has dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, SPDIF/headphone audio out, and HDMI 2.0a with DTS 2.0 and Dolby Digital Plus output in up to 7.1. It comes bundled with a Bluetooth remote controller.

With Android TV, you get access to all the Android apps and games on the Play Store, with streaming services and live tv channels as well through Sling TV. You get $50 of free credit if you subscribe to Sling TV, 3-months of free trial with Pandora, and $5 credit with VUDU with your purchase of Mi Box. The Mi Box is also compatible with Google Cast.
