just got Mi Max delivered. No WiFi connection can be established. Xiaomi is making a joke out of themselves by not pretending to care about such a major flaw.

Mi Max I received on 5-aug throgh Flipkart too has a wifi connectivity issue - doesn't connect to any Wi-Fi access point....I see below that lot of buyers from this Aug stock are facing the wifi connectivity issue - definitely seems to be WiFi hw issue...proactive active action is required from Xiaomi and sellers / e-commerce platforms rather than buyers going through the same issue discovery pains....

I may only agree Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro may lag a little because of it's Android skin.
It has the same pixel density as Sony Xperia XA, with a more superior AMOLED screen.
The speaker loudness and quality is comparable too, certainly not weak.
It's AMOLED screen, 5000mah battery and SD652 processor far out weight any smaller issue that you can nitpick as concern.

Those choose Mi Max is because of it's price, and it's comparable performance on every aspect.
If I really want to choose a more worthy contender for this Mi Max, it would be the much more superior Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro rather than Sony Xperia XA Ultra.

Should you flash with Global or China stable rom rather than some random custom rom.
I Pokemon Go with this phone whole day, and can last to 5 hour screen on time with GPS and 4G data, screen brightness set to 80%.

Contrary to everyone's unit, mine, the 32GB version is superb.
No problem on Wi-Fi, I connect it to anything, even connect to various Wi-Fi hot spot of any brand, no sudden disconnect or cannot connect, I even walk out away and the Wi-Fi connection is still strong.
I watch DLNA streaming movie on it, and no problem on the Wi-Fi streaming, no single disconnection or lag on the 2 hour movie, watching something that is 12GB in my hard drive.
Then, sunlight visibility is actually ok, not the best, but bright enough to use.
Forget those contrast under sunlight, all display just doesn't look so good under sunlight, much more expensive phone also fail in this matter, so is a very common issue.
Less attractive screen? I find the screen is perfectly usable, much to my liking where screen color all seems so much natural than those over saturated high end phone.This is of personal preference though. I find it doesn't distract me. I owned an AMOLED phone too, it won't better than an AMOLED screen, but still usable.
4G also no problem, support my country FDD 4G flawlessly, turn on 4G whole day and this phone battery can last longer than one day heavy usage.
The build quality is also superb, much better than Redmi Note 3 metal body, and much thinner too. The metal material used are more solid and harder than Redmi Note 3.
This is the prime example of how a phablet should be made, with the right price to match.

Not a good phone, lots of users are having wifi connectivity issues. The same with mine also. No quality check from xiaomi.

No problems with wi-fi. Only problem I noticed is the color of the display not that much attractive. Other than that its an amazing phone. Value for money 6.44 inch,3gb ram, 1.8 ghz processor, 32gb memory, dual sim, 16mp cam with 4k video, marshmallow, etc for just around $270-275 USD. What else do you want huh???? should try it man.

I just got this phone in Single Day delivery of Mi Max. I ordered with COD. I started phone and trying to connect with my Wi-fi Network. Its not able to connect and just showing a message that "saved". Many of users of this phone have same issue. I still didnot get any confirmation for return and payback of my phone. Hope for the best.

Xiaomi Mi Max having wifi related problem in 2nd sale stared from 2nd August, all the mobile has same issue. Downgraded to miui 6 then not working and upgraded to miui 8 same issue. It might be hardware related issue.

Id rather go with ... moreI would rather choose the XA Ultra, because it have good and very bright display, if I am in the room I will set a lower brighness to save more battery and of course I will enable the Stamina mode to save even more battery. The XA Ultra have good sunlight legibility, I can read message without pain. But Mi Max is weak on sunlight legibility even with the maximum brightness, quite suffer to read. The XA Ultra have great mono speaker the sound is louder so you can hear the ringtone even put it in the handbag, it is nice to watching movie on a 6inch screen and still can hold it in one hand and operate it by one hand, because the narrow side bezel did it well on holding. The front selfie camera have IOS support and it is wide angle with LED flash, it is awesome! And the pixel is enough when you review the photos on a monitor. But I can't believe Mi Max could take a good selfie even in normal light. The Qnovo battery take a advantage to a battery lifespan, the battery is decent, because you can charge the battery in less time (if you get 4000Mah you will charge the battery at least 3hours from 5% to 100%) . The XA Ultra have better and easy UI even your parents can also easy to manage it. Of course the UI is lightweight and software and Android version updates must be better than any crap.
