Super phone ... I use the phone for 3 to 4 hrs daily .but in my smart phone every or within 6 months battery will go (it drains with in half aday ...and display comes out ) so no other option ...i have to change the battery...

Updates made it almost unusable. Then I flashed back to stock MIUI version 10.3.1 (global) and gave this device a new life!

Guys dyk that, mi max 2 china rom already had android 9 with miui 12. But sadly idk how to install google play services and it's all chinese lol.

This phone is really incredible, i get almost 2 weeks on a single charge and thats with casual using. Very powerful cpu and gpu with lots of ram tht still runs all current up to date apps with ease. But the main reason i like this phone is because of its giant screen and to make things even better it has physical navigational buttons at the bottom of the bezel so you get no on screen controls and get to use full aspect of the display. This is the closest thing to a tablet phone that you can get at a surprisingly budget price.

I've been using mi max 2 since 2017 its first release.
this phone has beasty battery life, no overheating

This phone has better speaker than mi max 3, tested to maximum volume . Just better among these two. Of course there is a lot of other which is better or worst.

Arrow OS has no fast charging which is absolutely essential to me. Apart from that, it has echoing in calls. What i said was there's an acute shortage of reliable custom roms for mi max 2 and I stand by my statement. I'm using havoc,colt etc based on android 10 on my redmi note 3. I'm using Pixel extended,pixel experience, arrow based on android 11 on my redmi note 4. There's not a single reliable custom rom for mi max 2 be it android Oreo, pie,10 or 11.

I got mi max2..4/32 GB...i Don't have any issue...but max2 still worth it...big n worthty for money....5300 bett....

One of my favorite phones to date. It's a shame that I broke the screen last week — sweet dreams gentle giant. Had a good run, 3 years.
Now I can't find anything comparable on the market. Maybe the Honor X10 Max, but even that has poor availability in EU and poor band support if I were to import one. I guess I'll keep looking and hoping some kind of "spiritual successor" to the discontinued Max-lineup arrives.
I was really impressed by the screen on the Black Shark 3 Pro (but otherwise not that impressed in the phone), hopefully Xiaomi or some other OEM uses that 7.1" amoled in some other phone. Would love to rock that!
