AnonD-662125, 31 Dec 2017Fantastic !!!!!!! I cannot wait for this device. I have the... moreI agree 100 percent!!!
I remember comments about the 4.7 inch screen on my Motorola being ridiculously big!!
I use my phone 2% if the time the other 98% for news texting and watching videos. The screen on my max 2 is enough.
Reduce the bezels and have a 90% screen to body ratio and I'd buy the aspect ratio of the Max 2 over the 16to 9 that the mi max 3 supposedly will have!

Mi max 2 fan, 31 Dec 2017Oh no ... please not that 18:9 ratio.... please ... not you... more18:9 makes the display longer and the phone looks nicer, but not practically useful. 16:9 is better

begucu, 31 Dec 2017why no love for nfcBecause this midranger phone speculated specs. NFC is for high end phone. I'm sorry to say this, if you're looking for phone with NFC you're looking at the wrong place.

If this was water resistant, it would be in the top 5 of the bests phones to buy.

Anonymous, 31 Dec 2017If it MUST be 18:9 (which I don't understand at all!), then... moreYea 18:9 is so ridiculous we need at least 6.5/18:9 to have a usable display. Anything else is useless being so narrow.

Anonymous, 31 Dec 2017If it MUST be 18:9 (which I don't understand at all!), then... moreI disagree with regard to the soft capacitive buttons as opposed to physical buttons. Physical buttons are prone to jamming/not working and a place for water and dust to get in. Also, capacitive buttons disappear when not being used, while physical buttons are always there - they can't be removed when not being used.

Oh no ... please not that 18:9 ratio.... please ... not you xiaomi!
We dont want bigger phones . We want bigger videos remember?
No use of 7 inch screen if the ratio is 18:9 because it still shows 6.5 inch videos. We want a 7 inch phablet. Thats what i have been waiting for a long time . 7 inch 16:9 is the perfect size for viewing videos and surfing the net, simply perfect. Dont dissapoint us xiaomi with this fancy 18:9 sh... we want 7 inch videos. Not 6.5 not 8 , we want 7, thank you!

If it MUST be 18:9 (which I don't understand at all!), then I am glad it will be 7" as the screen actually will be as large as 6.44 one of MAX/MAX2 which was great. I am very disappointed with MIX2 which became smaller, So I think I'll switch from my MIX1 to MAX3 when it will come out.

BUT please, make the buttons physical!!! Soft buttons is a crap. Yes I use them on MIX1 and it is the ONLY thing I dislike about it!

Fantastic !!!!!!! I cannot wait for this device. I have the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 in black, and love it. If Xiaomi do indeed bring out the Mi Max 3 with slim bezels as rumoured in a 7" screen size, I will be the first in line to buy two of them.
To the people that like small phones, go buy a small phone. The Mi Max line is for people that like large phones with immersive screens and large batteries. It is almost 2018, and we no longer use our phones to only make and receive phone calls. I use my phone 99% of the time for media consumption - youtube videos, reading magazines/books, movies, GPS mapping, APPS, looking at photos/pictures etc etc and the best user experience for this content consumption is with a phone that has a large immersive screen.
Long live the Xiaomi Mi Max phablet line of phones.

AnonD-727199, 30 Dec 2017It's not about the bezels, it's about the ratio because you... moreyou are totally right. I seached all type of phablet on the site and found out that the smartest large 16 by 9 ratio (1920X1080) phone ever made is Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra ZU680KL and it is 6.8 inch screen. I think its the perfect size

I'm looking forward to seeing this new phablet. However, I doubt wether it'll be better than the Huawei mediapad x2. I've used it for 2 years and the only thing I can say is that it's amazing!

AnonD-711468, 27 Dec 2017Didn't you read my post? There is not even one. None, nadda... moreStop crying and stop whining here. If you're looking for a small phone, that's not the right place. Nobody gets their dream phone, they are not handmade. They can't make everyone happy. This is mass production.
Use phone finder or write in a forum to find a device that will suit best your needs and exists.
Even better, start producing small phones and become billionaire if market needs your ideas.

And at some videos you can "zoom in" so little black bars dissapear, but you cut out small part of the picture because of that. And with some videos - you are just helpless xD

But I do like this screen ratio TBH.

TheLostWanderer, 27 Dec 2017Note8 has a WHOLE PEN inside it and this thing lacks SD slo... moreIt's not about the bezels, it's about the ratio because you could have a huge screen but when you watch something on an 18:9 screen, for example youtube, you don't get the full experience because you will have massive black bars on the side. Phones should go back to 16:9 and if they make big phone with that ratio then it would be perfect.

Anonymous, 28 Dec 2017Seriously? You're saying phones with Snapdragon 835's and 4... moreYou can find $100 phones with 4GB of RAM (it's mid range, despite some flagships using it still for some inexplicable reason) and SD835 is high end only because there is hardly anything better on the android world (but it's only a smidge better than SD 821).

On android only Kirin processors are truly high end (if you don't game).

The xperia mini also has other problems as well. For example the giant bezels only leave a small screen for the footprint, relatively small batter, unimpressive camera.

Compare it with iphone 8, in everything apart from battery the iphone is light years ahead. Design, SoC, camera....

You're saying phones with Snapdragon 835's and 4GB+ of RAM are outdated hardware? Please show me a new "Phablet" that has "better" tech than these smaller phones like the Xiaomi Mi 6 (5.15"), Google Pixel 2 (5.0"), Sony Xperia XZ1 (5.2"), etc. I personally love phablets and have a Mi Max 2 but there are flagships out there with smaller screens. If you don't like phablets don't buy them.
