Yes, I tried to also buy but it just skipped from waiting for a reserve no, to sold out. Can't do this from my overseas xiaomi account. Need to go on to mainland china site. Not sure if they kicked me out because I'm still accessing from outside China.

Rumors said that the phone will be available for Chinese people preferably. I think you have to have the China credit card to buy it. So you it's hardly possible in the near future.
