- battery in saver mode won't hold for longer than 5days (3days is good if you get it on this phone)
- thx to the huge battery it's heavy
- no one needs slow motion video
- no water or dust resistance
- crappy sound
- only positive thing is the 108MP camera that drains the battery like crazy and the interval between pics @108MP is somewhere between 3~5seconds
- no 4G, it has only LTE which is noticeably slower
- if connected to internet you will see ads everywhere, not each 5seconds, but there is no app on this phone without ads, even the camera while launching will surprise you at least once a day with an ad XD

              krissy, 22 May 2020what i mean is, the remote i had, you just made run all cod... moreNow i understood for codes, that is indeed very usefull thing, shame that android don't have that, and maybe you're right to just input codes in phone that i get from universal remote, tnx

                Kiza, 22 May 2020I'm not sure did i understand you correctly with codes, so ... morewhat i mean is, the remote i had, you just made run all codes without knowing the brand of the TV, and obvious enough it could take several minutes to get to one that turns off the TV;

                about the range of the IR transmitter...in theory, the receiver sets the range to some degree, if you get a IR receiver with a 20 meters lens , it will at least double the range since it can focus more signal than a 5mm receiver diode (or whatever it's called, but it looks like a LED diode),
                so if you ask about practical range, then your question has no answer,

                but, the range will not exceed few meters due to a simple reason, you could control devices that are not yours, and that is an unwanted thing , thus the dispersion and strength of the transmission will be set to have wide angle (good bcoz you wont have to aim that much at your TV) but at same time it will make it weak (reason why TV remote has it in shape of a lens, and phone does not);
                it's same with the camera shutter sound on Samsung phones, Huawei and Xiaomi allow to disable it in settings, obviously shutter sound will not allow you to take pics without other to notice it;

                get yourself one of those universal remotes and make it run through all codes and then read out the code from remote and use as input on your phone, done.

But anyway, i would like if anyone can just try ir learning/recording codes with anymote or irplus apps on this device, if you can't, then i would like just to hear your thoughts about distance, range of ir blaster and general using in room or in public, how much meters/feets approximately can work. Tnx in advance

                    they all get produced in same place, and so many TVs can be shut down with same code, well the list ain't short and alone for samsung there 27 codes, i recall that in the past i had an universal remote control that would run all codes for literally any device you could think of and you would have to stop it when for example TV turns off,
                    i am surprised there is no such thing for android

                      krissy, 21 May 2020from the point of view of a programmer, if the hardware is ... moreI agree with everything you said, today devices are much better when using BT or wifi, but, for example, i have from earlier one lcd tv, which brand is unknown and local, so i can't find brand name on list in stock app for remote, so for that tv, i need ir learning (reciever) by puting his original remote controler near phone to learn codes from it. Another example is not for uknown brand, but for other unlisted devices that aren't tv, stb or air cond. (like my tv tuner for pc). Those are just examples, and i was doing ir learning on old lg g2. Today for me isn't that much important to have that feature, but i'm curious to know if xiaomi can work out ir learning with apps anymote or irplus(those two are only ones which actually access ir hardware, and have button for code learning)

                        Kiza, 21 May 2020Can some users of this device tell here how ir blaster work... morefrom the point of view of a programmer, if the hardware is there then it's possible, but by the looks of it it's only a transmitter, no phone these days need a receiver, bcoz it's too slow, even BT is way faster, on top of that BT has good range and it doesn't matter where the phone is hidden as long it's in range,

                        if not for the filters, and in theory you could use a camera to receive IR signals, but idk if the IR filter on the cameras can be removed without destroying them;

                        surveillance cameras have it magnetic(? or a servo does that?) and can switch it off for recording at night

                          Can some users of this device tell here how ir blaster works, is it long range, how you like it compared to LGs ir blaster? I couldn't find anywhere about it, i only discovered that ir blaster xiaomi using in their phones is only transmitter, not reciever for ir learning for not listed devices/brands in stock app(even samsung in old days didn't have reciever, only lg and htc had both in their ir hardware, so today only xiaomi and huawei have ir, but huawei is only company in world with reciever too). So my question is: can you actually make xiaomis ir blaster be reciever by using apps anymote or irplus-infrared remote? You have here tutorial for anymote with pictures:

                                this is the very first phone i own that has this prob with video recording, but yea, 100% ppl who bought this phone, did it bcoz of the 108MP camera, the rest is not worth mentioning;

                                so yea i would judge the video recording as terrible, but with acceptable quality if you don't move the phone

                                        Now, do you guys at Xiaomi (like Huawei) know that there are people that need full slow motion videos for their profession? Or you only make mobiles for Instagram influencers, you and your double speed idiotic effect short slowmo videos?
