I believe it's even snappier than 820/821 due to more number of cores (hey, it's Android, we like to multitask!).

It is on another level, a level that it is worthy to call it a high-end chipset. SNAPDRAGON 660 is a chipset that have some familiarity between SNAPDRAGON 820, with slightly better multitasking performance and much more efficient. So, what are u complaining now?

[deleted post]No SD660 uses Kryo 260, SD835 uses Kryo 280. SD660 only rivals with SD820.

For me, chipset - yes, stereo 🔊 speakers - yes, display/build/camera - yes, micro SD Storage - no (a big let down for me).

Wait for some good months and it will go down to a lovely number (like Mi 5 that goes down to 50% in its last production batch).

Heavy User, 15 Sep 2017Do not be surprised to find out that you are not the only o... moreBecause you don't need that much power on a handset that focuses on imaging department, if you realize that the presentation of this phone talks mostly about its camera capabilities. If you need performance, go on resort to Mi 6 / OnePlus 5, even though I don't know what kind of apps/games require such beast power. Anyway, I believe next Redmi will get 63X instead, so there's still enough performance gap between Mi and Redmi series, among other things as usual.

This model has a good but midrange chipset to be expected in the Redmi series, not in the MI series. Xiaomi is asking MI high end price for it. A price that equals other companies' models like ONE Plus 5 high end model. Why buy Xiaomi when you can buy ONE Plus 5 (with a much stronger chipset) for the same price?
