Miui 7.5 is the best rom with google playstore preinstalled.Theres no need custom rom .Find the rom that flash using eg.MIUI.zip Change to update.zip and flash thru recovery.Wipe everything.Done

i downloaded ROM lineage from above link.. using TWRP.. after rootiing.. still continously getting error 7... any idea how too successfully update to new android version for mi tab 7.9 ?

I buy this tab 5 years ago, and stil work
But you must to flash custom rom, cause the miui stuck on kitkat version
I recommend Lineage os custom rom from xda developpers
This day my tabs have nougat version, and performance is very good
It can stream youtube till 1080p, browsing with chrome is ok, multi tasking is good enough (remember this tab just have 2gb of RAM)

After use for 5 years mi pad work like champion, it work perfectly well with moden app.
No regret bought this, not only cheap as compare other brand but also good performance.
