Otherwise it defeats the purpose for what its meant to be, unless you are only using it for reading books. These days even the games need internet to compete with friends round the world. Don't you agree?

There are many tablets 7'-8' and even 10 inches running on 3000-5000mah batteries and they do give you a decent amount of backup in 7inch ones and it drains fast in the 10 inch tablets.
6700mah is the best that you can give in an 8inch tablet and Xiaomi has done it. If it was 8000 or 9000 mah batteries it will be too heavy to carry around.
I do agree with you - They could have provided 3G/4G but at this spec and price range its acceptable.
Maybe they thought about Google's project loon and they didn't include it.

hello there..As mi pad will be launching soon in India..I m thinking to buy it..
But I have some doubts... from most of the review videos of mi pad the display seem to be low on brightness..
so..
Is the display bright enough??
And does MIUI face any lags in daily operations??

Why not sim slot and 3G/4G.
From a long time I'm lookingfor long duration battery backup device, while I got but no sim slot, I'm very shoked. Again I've to wait.
It is good measurement for android- that
If display 7" so battery should be 7000 mAh
If display 8" so battery should be 8000 mAh
If display 5" so battery should be 5000 mAh
If the all company abide by thses rule , we have no need carry charger in pocket always.

It has 4.4.2 and can be updated to 4.4.4

I got it yesterday - incredible tablet. I owned Samsung Note 10.1 N8000 before and will never get back to their devices. MiPad is greater in every aspect ;)
