If you can bear the shortcomings of the software go for mi pad, if not go for the ipad.
The look of each is up to you, personally i have an Ipad Air 3 and tried Ipad 8, and aside looks both are awesome tablets.

No 3.5mm jack = no buy. A shame, because this is a great device otherwise.

Might think of going for iPad 9? The apps there are more optimized but the tablet will be an ancient look? what do you guys think?

If it's ONLY for note taking i would go for the ipad, if it's also towards a more general use go for mi pad 5. But as someone said, wait for in depth reviews

So go for it or samsung galaxy tab s7 fe. But if you’re an artist go for the ipad. You'll able to use procreate in that. Also if you need better performance(like for gaming) go for the ipad.

Hey, guys it's me again. I'm now struggling with another contender which is the Samsung S7 FE. Its price is really low when factoring in the education price, not to forget the pen is included. I know iPadOS is the best but what's your opinion on Xiaomi vs Samsung?

tech stats are better on Mi Pad.
also, ipad 9 has only got 3Gb RAM, not futureproof.
file management is way better on android normally.
but,ultimately, you have to see for yourself how things work with MIUI.
